The MHF Second Chance Thrift Shop located next to

Scruffy's Ice Cream Parlor in Middleburg, VA has been a

terrific source of continual income for our shelter. The

shop, which opened in 1997, is run entirely by a special

group of hardworking and devoted volunteers.

We gladly accept donations, in manageable amounts, of various household items including:

Miscellaneous Household Items

In-season Cleaned Clothing

Pictures and Frames

Jewelry, Ornaments and Knickknacks

Books, etc.

We are unable to accept the following items due to limited space, health or safety reasons:

Baby Furniture, Strollers, Car Seats
Large Exercise Or Sports Equipment
Large Furniture and Appliances
Electronic Equipment with Missing or Non-Working Parts
Large TV’s (larger than 17")
Computers and Monitors – Except Notebooks and Laptops
Magazines – 4 Months or Older (Except Vintage/Antique Magazines)
Textbooks, Encyclopedias, Readers Digest, Condensed Books & National Geographic Mags
Used Underwear and Pajamas
Used Helmets, Riding, Biking, Climbing, etc.
Human Food
Open Animal Feed or Supplements

Donate your items to the MHF Thrift Shop and help needy animals in the process!

Donations can be taken directly to the shop during business hours. You will be provided with a tax receipt for all accepted items. Please, NO t-shirts/sweats, tattered clothing, appliances and child safety items such as helmets/car seats.

Middleburg Humane Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible. MHF continues to be entirely funded by private donations with no state or county funding.
