Cheyenne (formerly known as Autumn)
Dear Middleburg Humane Foundation,
I was just writing to tell you how thankful I am for
my new family. They call me "Cheyenne" now. I get to go on long walks, play tag and fetch all the time.
I get to help my new mommy do her housework and even help her run errands in teh car. My new "puppy" Emily lets me sleep
in her room and cuddles me on her bed sometimes. Emily even brings friends over for me to play with. The whole
family gives me lots of love and attention.
I have been on my best behavior; I stay with one of
my family members when I'm in the house. I can sit, shake, stay and lie down. I haven't had any accidents and
I don't beg for human food. I miss you and my puppies but I'm VERY happy in my new home. Thank you for rescuing
me and my puppies. You took such good care of us when we came to stay with you. I hope you find wonderful homes
for each of them, too. I'm so glad that you work so hard to find the perfect family for me and my other animal friends
that are with you at the Middleburg Humane Foundation.
Love,
Cheyenne
As Cheyenne said above, there couldn't be a better fit. She
is such a sweetheart and so well-behaved. Whether you are up for a nap or a romp, she's ready to support you.
We love her bunches! Thank you so much for the work you do. We wouldn't have this wonderful girl in our family
if you hadn't taken the time to save her.

Zorro
As you can see, Zorro
has happily adjusted to living as a house rabbit. As with most house rabbits, he is caged (in a nice big one) during
the day but is allowed free roaming when I am around. Because he is young, I still need to keep an eye on him (they
like to chew stuff, like wires), but over time that behavior lessens and you can eventually give them almost complete
run of the house (they like to explore). As you may know, rabbits are very clean and Zorro is completely litter-box
trained -— he never makes a mistake.
Anyway, I think Zorro
was in your original pictures on your website when you featured the bunnies for adoption. He’s 8 pounds now and
doing well.
Thanks for saving him.

Addie (formerly known as Peppermint Patty)

We just wanted to let you know how much we love our mini St. Bernard,
Addie. she is such a sweetie and loves to snuggle with us on the couch in the evenings! She likes to walk through
the neighborhood sniffing all the interesting smells. She is a very calm dog and has been very nice to our cats.
Every night, Addie climbs in our beds to snuggle and even likes sleeping in on the weekends.
We love her so much and are so glad you rescued her. She
has a very happy life now and is very well taken care of!
Thanks for everything!

Pickles - Just
wanted to send pictures of Pickles and let you all know what a special wonderful girl she is. We love her so much - she
has just settled right in at the farm and just loves to spend time with her kitties and horses. She has the run of the
farm when she is not on her invisible fence (which she learned in just a few days - smart girl) and has started obedience
training. She is just so smart and sweet we feel like we have lucked out with such a princess. Thank
you so much for the great work you do! Take care ~The Jensens
Blackie & Tiger -Tiger has been a real prize. Blackie is so outgoing that he initially overshadows
his brother, but Tiger is the discriminating feline and is wonderfully affectionate and full of personality. Once he decides
you are worthy of his attention, he lets you in. It is an honor and he lets you know it. I've been gone
on a business trip the past week and when I returned my mother went on non-stop about "those cats our too funny" one story
after another. They dote on her and she adores them. They are exactly what I wanted for both of us. I missed
them when I was gone and they haven't let me out of their sight since I returned. I won't go on and on (I could), but
I felt that you cared about these boys and would like you to know they are fine. We love them. I think they are more
than happy. I think they feel they are secure and this is home and it always will be. ~ Sandy
Lexi (aka Alexis) - I thought you'd enjoy seeing some pictures of Lexi's first camping experience.
She was great and truly enjoyed it! What a sweet, loving girl she is! We are soooo darned happy and thankful that we
found Lexi. As I said in another earlier e-mail, my husband didn't think he was ready yet to get another dog.
Well, he has more than changed his mind about that! Lexi is as much a Daddy's girl as she is a Momma's girl!
Lexi is everybody's girl! ~Marcia Katz

| Bailey (aka Lance) |
Bailey (aka Lance!) - It has been just a week and I LOVE THIS DOG! He started giving me his kisses
by the third day. He follows me around the first floor of our house and sits next to me if I stop to sit and read.
If I don't pet him, he lifts up his front paws, places them on my lap, and starts to lick me. As I write this message,
both dogs are sleeping beside me. He and Emma are getting to know each other and are starting to play a little.
When I throw a tennis ball in the back yard, they both race after it to see who can get there first. We are so happy to have
him in our family. ~Diane & Bill Bach

| Mosby (aka Pierre) at home with his new family! |
Mosby ~ Everyone should see how well these little
thrown-away dogs can do when given a little love and a caring home. I just can't understand why EVERYONE wasn't
looking to take little Mosby (aka Pierre). He has great house manners, asks when he wants to go out and just wants lots
of pets. He's really smart and learns quickly and the older dogs are finding many ways to let him into their lives.
The three play and run in the yard. Interestingly, I think he is more like the Jack Russell than the Fox Terrier we
have. Mosby has the focused hunting instincts of the Jack (squirrels in the trees), as well as the facial expressions.
At any rate, we are so glad we brought him home. We followed your instructions to the letter and let them all meet slowly
and I'm so glad we did. The result has been quite amazing. None of the babies have any aggression and Mosby is
melding in wonderfully. Thank you all so much for all your help to us and to all the needy animals. And Mosby
thanks you too! He is a very happy camper so far. ~ Bev Boucher
Dear Middleburg Family,
You will never know how grateful I am to you for rescuing JoJo for me. After being in the water for 3 days
and someone finally coming to help me and saying "You can't take him (JoJo) with you", was the hardest decision I ever had
to make. When I left I was not sure if I would ever see him again. The first night out of my home since being rescued myself,
was the toughest. I had to sleep on the Claiborne Overpass Bridge. I kept pondering "Is he all right? Did I make the right
decision?" Well, I didn't like making it, but once I saw all the chaos around me and I saw how the animals were being treated,
I knew I made the decision that had to be made under the circumstances. I didn't know that I would be without food or water
for 5 days, so I didn't ponder those questions any longer. I just prayed that God would keep him for me, and my prayer was
answered when you came along. To everyone who had anything to do with JoJo...THANK YOU! I am eternally grateful to you for
your tireless committment and service.
God bless you richly and always,
Monique & JoJo
