Donna McCain (on the left) and Debra Utterback (on the right) have been volunteering at MHF only since September 2007 but they've already made a big difference!  They come to MHF about once a week to walk and socialize with dogs and make runs to local animal hospitals.  Debra has been a great help with our IT and computer needs, and Donna is fostering two of our pups.  They also participated in our Christmas parade in 2007.  Thanks, Donna and Debra, for all you do!

PatDaugherty.jpg

Pat Daugherty has been volunteering with us for six years.  She began in the fall of 2001 with her son Sam, who is now protecting our country by serving in the armed forces. Pat comes every other weekend to help with cleaning and animal care. She is an awesome cleaner! Pat is also so fun to have here- always very upbeat, perky and willing to help in any way needed! She brings us yummy people treats too! We love ya Pat!

Lacy Warner is our featured volunteer!
Lacy Warner started volunteering with us a few months ago. She comes every Wednesday morning to clean the kitty cages, walk dogs and grooms the rescued horses. Lacy is currently helping us with the two Thoroughbred mares that we rescued in January- "Ivy & Flower"- Lacy is working with their new foster mom, Martha Munn twice a week and plans to take them on a trail ride soon! We are so appreciative of Lacy's committment, we just cannot thank her enough - she is awesome!

Evelyn comes to the shelter almost every Saturday morning and cleans cleans cleans!!! She strips the cages, washes litter boxes, sweeps and mops the floors and then spends quality time with some of the animals. She is a pleasure to have here and we cannot thank her enough for helping with the chores!

Claudia Moezie and her daughter, Megan
 are our featured volunteers!

These two gals do so much for the animals, I don't even know where to begin! Claudia worked at the MHF shelter in 2003 & 2004 doing animal care. She was a terrific employee: great with the animals, fun to be around and a very thorough cleaner! Claudia also spearheaded and organized our very successful "Where Love Grows" cookbook. Claudia worked well into her pregnancy with Megan and once little Megan was old enough to get out and about, they jumped right back into things together! Claudia and Megan help us with fundraisers, crafty projects, runs to Walmart and Staples and lots of travel time delivering animals to and from veterinary hospitals as well as journeys far away to pick up animals from county shelters where their time is up. So, all in all, I truly don't know what we would do with out these two, they're the best!
