How do you choose a nutrition counselor? You want someone who is caring, knowledgeable, and accessible.
Someone willing to take the time to go over all of your options and treat you as a person, not just a client.
At my
practice, I pride myself on my client service. I offer flexibility of office hours, safe and proven procedures, and
the latest in metabolic rate testing technology. I utilize a variety of methods to help you identify your trigger foods,
including discussing your history, Mediator Release Testing (MRT) for food sensitivities, and elimination diets as part of
LEAP therapy.
What is a Registered Dietitian, you may ask? A registered dietitian (RD) is a
healthcare professional who has completed a bachelor's degree (BS) in nutrition or dietetics, as well as qualifying supervised
work experience such as a dietetic internship. A registration exam must be passed in order to become registered.
Then the RD must maintain a minimum of 75, continuing education hours to remain registered. Registration is national,
and some states have licensure, but not yet in California. The title nutritionist, on the other hand, has no specific
educational requirements, and any person is able to call themselves a nutritionist with no training at all. Beware!
You
may also want to know what a Certified LEAP Therapist is. A certified LEAP therapist is a specially
trained dietitian, who has specific knowledge in the area of food sensitivities and the ability to utilize MRT blood testing
to make defined elimination diets. This aids in symptom relief for many conditions but most specifically; migraine,
IBS and fibromyalgia.
This web site is designed for both new and current clients. It includes specific information
on my practice, the different health issues that I can help improve along with general healthy living and wellness information.
