Unit 0 Superior Tube

Unit 1 Pottstown Metal Welding

Unit 2 Superior Metal

Unit 3 Mayer-Pollack

Unit 4 Columbia Boiler

Unit 5 Neapco

 

 The first thing we did as a new Steelworker Local was participate in the USWA trade rally in Washington D.C. We've since sent many members to many educational events to help them better represent our dues paying members. Some of the events were leadership training, safety conferences, and financial training seminars. All units also participated in the 2001 strike at Superior Tube Co. by walking the picket line there, and helping us be successful in that cause. In March of 2002 we gained  two new units with Unit 6 Occidental Chemical and Unit 7 Taylor Industries coming on board. The addition of these units made us the largest Steelworker Local in Montgomery County with over 750 members. Sadly, this large membership was short lived when the members who worked at  Pottstown Metal Welding and Occidental Chemical lost their jobs due to the plant closings.
