St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized on July 26, 1901. A church building was constructed on Waller Street in Wilkes-Barre, and then
later moved to Barney Street. Our present building
at 1000 South Main Street was dedicated in 1961. Our
Church is more than just a building however. It is a family made up of people
of all ages and backgrounds who share a common faith in Jesus Christ.
Through our faith in Him, Christ gives us the forgiveness of all of our sins, eternal life, and the strength to live
godly lives. Therefore having
received forgiveness through our faith in Jesus Christ, it is now the mission of our congregation to proclaim
the Kingdom of Jesus Christ using His Word in worship, fellowship, service, and study.
So please, have a look around. If you're familiar with our church check out the Upcoming Events page for a list of upcoming events. If you missed Sunday Service, go over to Sunday's Message and read Pastor Erickson's sermon. Or if this is your first time visiting
us and would like to know more about what we believe the Bible teaches us, visit Our Beliefs. And of course, feel free to email or call us at any time. We'd love
to hear from you!
In Christ's Service,
Pastor Erickson
