After I failed to bring down my blood pressure with fluid restriction
and the no-salt diet during four months in 2002, I questioned the logic behind
the relationship of salt and water to blood pressure. I decided to look into
research articles for the answer. I found that hyperglycemia has an important
role in deciding how our kidneys pick up both water and salt and send them into
circulation. Thanks to the online research from many free databases, I have
been able
to sample more than 1,200 articles as of this writing. To share the information
with someone like you, I have organized a reading list of 1,163 articles online
at www.carbohydratescankill.com for your reference. Also, thanks to the convenience of the Internet I have had the
privilege
of enlightenment from many world-class medical and nutritional researchers and
experts, just to name a few (by the alphabetical order without the individual’s
title), Breton Barrier, Tom Beer, Jennie
Brand-Miller, Todd Brown, Richard Feinman, Stephen Freedland, Mary Gannon, Cheryl Krone, Benoit Lamarche, Ainsley
Malone, Tony Nelson, Mark Obrenovich, Walter
Rocca, Alessandra Tavani, Paul Thormalley, Maarten Tushuizen, and Jeff Volek. I wish to thank them
for sharing their thoughts and personal files with me. Opinions and information
from all of their articles have helped me explore the role of carbohydrates in
the development of many diseases. They helped me understand the global impact
of carbohydrates on our health, an understanding that is very important to the
practice of preventive medicine, especially in the areas of prenatal,
perinatal, and pediatric care. My knowledge is far from
perfect. I hope more ongoing researches will help shed additional light on how
we should handle carbohydrates in our dietary recommendations especially for
our children. Many thanks to Ms. Jean Morris for her help me in finding the articles
that I needed but could not find elsewhere. I want to thank my children for patiently supporting me for my
experiments. I also thank my other family members and friends for their encouragement
in getting this book published. |
