Oct. 12 Women's Mission Interest Group, 12:15, at the
home of Billie Doty
Wilma Kelly will be our hostess. Our program will be
to make double paper bags from single paper bags for the
State College Food Bank (a rather noisy, but helpful task!).
We still need a devotion leader for October. In November,
we will look forward to having Jean Crider, tentatively
set to be our guest speaker, to share with us about her
experiences in Burma. All from the church are welcome
to bring a sandwich and gather with us.

Oct. 19: CROP Walk
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. with the walk starting
at 2 p.m. from St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 208 W. Foster.
CROP walk is an annual program of Church World Service
dedicated to raise awareness and funds for international
aid and relief. Walkers raise money by asking for sponsorships.

LOOKING AHEAD
UBBC's Friday Night at the Movies - Fireside Room
Friday, Nov. 7: Come to Movie Night, sponsored by the
Social Awareness and Action Committee. a movie night for
adults and kids. The night will start with a potluck supper
at 6 p.m., followed by Reel Bad Arabs for adults and an
age-appropriate movie for kids at 7 p.m.
Reel Bad Arabs examines how Hollywood has stereotyped
Arabs, portraying them as sinister sheikhs and blood-thirsty
terrorists. The film looks at the origin of these images
and their similarities with anti-Semitism and racist stereotypes
from the past.
Please join us for supper, a film and discussion at UBBC's
inaugural Friday Night at the Movies.
Disaster Response Volunteers Needed for Fall
Volunteers are still needed for disaster work the weeks
of Sept. 14-20 and Nov. 16-22, 2008 in Chalmette, La.

Disaster Response has also set up trips to New Windsor
to volunteer at the service center every 2nd Tuesday of
