Christmas is the season of giving. God freely gave us His Son and, to celebrate, we give gifts to family and friends. What better way to show our gratitude for God’s selfless Gift than to share our gifts with a struggling family or individual?
The LMS Miracle of Christmas program provides food and gifts for hundreds of needy people each year and, once again this Christmas, is providing donors the opportunity to “adopt a family.” If you choose to participate, you will be provided with a sturdy cardboard box (Iron Mountain has donated these for several years), and with the gender and age information for each family member to be able to buy appropriate gifts. The names of the families are confidential, of course, but you may choose by family size to fit your budget. Remember, these are children and adults who will receive few or no presents without your help.
Families with children are always popular recipients, but also please remember the individuals – many elderly, many in poor health – who face the Christmas season alone.
Help share the Christmas story, food and gifts with people who may otherwise be forgotten this Christmas. Through your participation in the LMS Miracle of Christmas, let them know they always have family – the family of God in Christ.
