LPNs & Techs CHOOSE CWA 1126!Over 60 Healthcare
Professionals from the Faxton Campus of FSLHC will join with the almost 800 LPNs, Techs & RNs who already enjoy the benefits
of Union representation and a Collective Bargaining Agreement at St Luke's Hospital. LPNs & Technicians
voted heavily in favor of representation in the election held on April 1st at the Faxton Campus. The proceedings were overseen
by an official agent of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and should become officially certified within the week.
Negotiations will begin soon...stay tuned!

2008 FSTL Contracts Ratified
Nurse Mandatory Overtime Protection Chapter #493 of the Laws
of 2008 - (S8637 – Morahan / A11711 – Gunther)This
new law prohibits health care employers, including hospitals and nursing homes, from requiring nurses to work more than their
regularly scheduled hours. The law provides enough flexibility to allow for voluntary overtime and exemptions for emergency
situations. This law has been in the works for many years and is the culmination of efforts by many affiliates working together
through the NYS AFL-CIO. Effective July 1, 2009.
