Riders in our therapeutic riding program have specific goals they would like to work on during the several weeks of their
session. These goals may include improvements to balance, posture, muscle tone, speech, social skills and self-esteem. Registered
instructors lead the lessons and trained volunteers are needed to assist each rider by leading the rider's horse and/or
side walking next to the rider throughout the lesson.
Bob our barn manager works hard every day to keep our horses fed, watered and turned out. The horses' stalls
are cleaned every morning and new bedding put down. The horses' turn-out areas or paddocks are also cleaned regularly when
temperatures above freezing permit it. The barn manager will train volunteers to help with barn chores in the mornings
during the week.
