The following programs are for our Corpsmembers that successfully graduate the Youth Corps program and are looking to bolster thier resumes.  NJYC of Phillipsburg is proud to be able to offer our award winning training programs:

Full-Time Community Service Crew
 
A program designed for assisting in transitioning from Youth Corps to the 'real world', our Full-time Community Service Crew is dedicated to providing municipal support services to the Town of Phillipsburg and the non-profit agancies within the community.  Participants are exposed to a mirrored 'real-world' working experience, modeling the world of work in a way that better prepares them for full time employment.

Brownfields Job Training Program
 
Funded through a generous grant from the US EPA, the Brownfields Job Training Program prepares our successful Youth Corps graduates 18 and over for careers in the environmental field.  Participants acquire the mandatory OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response) certification and earn the title 'environmental technican.  Curriculum is developed and supervised by the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  To date, NJYC has produced over 100 Environmental Technicians!

Urban & Community Forestry Academy

 

Administered through a grant from the US Department of Agriculture, the Urban Forestry Academy provides training for successful Youth Corps graduates in Aboriculture and the 'Green' Industries (Landscaping, Horticulture, etc).  Particpants are instructed on Plant Identification, Plant Biology, Invasive vs. Native Species, Proper tool operations and maintenance, Safety, and proper climbing techniques.  Coprsmembers are also offered employment 'on-the-spot' as most instructors are industry professionals.
