James started his career with horses when he was a small boy. With the help of his grandfather, James broke his
first at the age of 10 - a 2 year old Tobiano Stallion. His grandfather believed in the "Old Cowboy" way:
"You get on and stay on as long as you can. If you get bucked off you get right back on again. And don't
think of your pride, and don't even think about quiting."
He broke that horse with a bridle and no saddle. As you can imagine he brushed himself off a lot and learned
a hard lesson from the start. Later, Jim realized through a lot of seminars and clinics that you need to think
like a horse and build trust before you can even think about getting on. Jim's training is a soft, gentle touch with
discipline when needed for respect. He believes you first need to get respect and give confidence to the horse, spending
time doing ground work before you ask to get on their back.
Jim has trained numerous horses in the last 35+ years and has always been proud of the horses and has been appreciated
by their owners. Jim has participated in and\or audited a number of clinic's and seminar's from these top clinicians
and horse specialists:
