About Ms. Hopkins

Paula Hopkins is a sole practitioner representing clients in the areas of family law, both collaborative and traditional. Ms. Hopkins is also a trained mediator and provides mediation services.  In addition to private practice, Ms. Hopkins has worked as a staff attorney for public interest and legal services programs in Ohio and the American Bar Association Commissions on the Elderly and the Mentally Disabled.   Ms. Hopkins has authored model statutes and publications on elder law and disability topics and has lectured for the NBI and PBI on topics related to family law, estate planning, and probate law.  As a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), Ms. Hopkins serves on the Council of the Family Law Section. She is also a vice chairperson of the ACBA’s  Sole and Small Firm Practitioner Section and is a member of the ACBA Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee. Ms. Hopkins has also been elected to the Judiciary Committee of the ACBA. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (member, Family Law Section; Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee, Subcommittee on Collaborative Law), and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is a founding member and the first president of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania (CLASP).  Ms. Hopkins is a fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and volunteers for the Pro Se Motions Program and NLSA Protection from Abuse Pro Bono Referral Program. Ms. Hopkins received her J. D. in 1978 from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law.
