Here's what's ongoing at Trinity:
With our building now in its 125th year, we have major maintenance to do -- not least of all putting on a new roof! We have $119,000 in hand and $51,000 more pledged on our way to $211,000
for all the repairs and improvements needed for "this old house."
With the new flooring's now being installed and the new roof about to be installed, the Capital Campaign Committee has
asked that, if possible, pledgers to the Captial Fund fulfill part or all of their pledge ahead of the schedule
they indicated. Such advances will help the Parish to avoid the necessity of taking out a loan.
Phil Goddard, Sue Krafft, and Attila and Sharon Paltelky returned from the New Orleans area Feb. 10
after ten days helping to "rehab" homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Sue has a photo display of the church we aided -- Christ
Church, Bay St. Louis -- and Sharon has written a thorough report of what she calls, "About the best thing I've ever done."
Since sending Christ Church an altar, credence table, and $3,000, we continue to be concerned (along with other parishes)
to see them through. Click here for an YouTube video about Christ Church's destruction and recovery. On the same page, you can view a video re Camp Care, where our intrepid four were quartered.

Here's what's gone on...
May 6. The Vestry and members of the Capital Campaign Committee met to decide how to proceed with the installation
of new roofing on the church and steeple. The contractor was present to explain the mistake by which his firm
underestimated the cost by $18,000: the present asbestos-composite shingles would have to be removed after all. With an unexpected
gift of $18,000 in hand and a few adjustments offered by the contractor, the Vestry voted to proceed with the installation.
Materials, including the "Brilliance Red" galv-alum shingles, will be delivered in three to four weeks.
March 27. Trinity's women (with an assist from several husbands) resurrected and served Trinity's "Famous Ham
Loaf Dinner" as a fund-raiser for the capital campaign. The dinner, an older member told the Rector, was an annual tradition
begun some decades ago by the now defunct St. Elizabeth's Guild. A crowd estimated to be one hundred attended, all filled
and satisfied by the ample and tasty meal.
March 18. Trinity was awarded a $500 Arts Mini-Grant through the Cheboygan Area Arts Council,
the Regional Re-Granting Agency. The grant is to be applied to the cost of our May 5 Village Church Concert, which features
the internationally-known theater organist, Donna Parker. Needless to say, we're delighted!
