Families are frequently challenged
in meeting their basic necessities. Accessing a healthier life style, by eating
nutritious meals and taking needed medications is a choice some do not have. Chronic
low income perpetuates on-going hunger, ill health, and stress, which deters a positive outcome. Our Food Pantry Program continues to provide the less fortunate with much needed nutrition. The need is
even more vital for the elderly and growing children. A healthy lifestyle often
offsets the need for medical expenditures later on, and this is where contributions such as yours are so appreciated. Program Description The Family Service Food Pantry program is designated to provide food to clients
experiencing a food shortage due to the loss of and/or decrease of income. Emergency
food will be provided to any person who can prove need. No client will be refused
service due to his or her race, culture or creed. Program Goals 1. To assist clients with little or no income. 2. To provide foods in an emergency situation. 3. To supplement a clients’ food supply until
a longer term solution can be implemented. 4. To provide children extra nutrition. To alleviate the initial crisis while the client and case worker initiates a plan to solve the underlying problem for
a more long-term resolution. To provide short and long-term resolution to the
food problem.
