The eldest of three children born to Julia D. and John Edward Chase, Sr., Dr. Chase had the unique experience for homeopathic physicians of her generation to be born in National Homeopathic Hospital in Washington, DC. A product of the Fairfax County Public School system in Fairfax, Virginia, she obtained her B.A. at Bridgewater College (1967), Bridgewater, Virginia, and her MD at the then Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania (1971), Philadelphia, PA. Her family practice residency training occurred through the Department of Family Practice, Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and Vienna, VA.

Dr. Chase is a Diplomate of the American Board of Homeotherapeutics (1983). She was a preceptee to, and protegée of, the late distinguished homeopathic physician, Maesimund B. Panos, MD, DHt. She also attended the National Center for Homeopathy sponsored National Center for Instruction in Homeopathy and Homeotherapeutics summer postgraduate courses. 

Dr. Chase has been active in organizational homeopathy since 1975, having donated much of her time regionally, nationally, and internationally. In 1995, she was elected the first woman President (1995-1998) of the Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis (LMHI), the international homeopathic professional medical organization, established in Rotterdam in 1925. She has served as President of the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) (1997-2000), the oldest extant national medical association in the USA, established in 1844. She continues to serve on the AIH Board as a Trustee. Visit the website of the American Institute of Homeopathy. (see link below) She has participated on the Board of the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia Convention of the United States (HPCUS) (see link below) for several years, currently serving as Secretary, a post that she also holds on the American Board of Homeotherapeutics, the homeopathic medical specialty certifying board, established in 1960. Currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Southern Homeopathic Medical Association, and Past President and Director of Publications of the National Center for Homeopathy, from whom she received an award thanking her for her service in April 1985, she is also Secretary of the Homeopathic Medical Society of the State of Pennsylvania.

She is the first woman to be named a President of Honor, Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis, October 2004, a perpetual award bestowed for meritorious service upon persons who have served as Liga President, granted only six times since the Liga's founding in 1925. Dr. Chase is the author of a number of homeopathic articles and pamphlets over the years, published in The Layman SpeaksThe Southern Letter, Homeopathy Today, the American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine (formerly Journal of the American Institute of Homeopathy, and Homeopathic Links. In February 2005 Dr. Chase was selected as one of "America's Top Physicians," having been listed in the Guide to America's Top Physicians, 2004-2005 Edition

She has been in the private family practice of homeopathy in Fairfax, Virginia, since 1975, her practice having been located in her townhome since 1988. From March 1993 to December 2004, she shared her home with her beloved lady black Labrador Retriever, Sable.  In February 2005 she adopted Anna, her female yellow Labrador canine companion, with whom she hopes to continue her travels in the Winnebago Rialta "Minimum dose."  She is a lifelong member of the Annandale United Methodist Church, Annandale, Virginia.  Her interests are nature and wildflowers, mountain bike cycling and RV camping.
