Charlotte Chism Waldrum, CFSP
Funeral Director/Owner/CEO
Charlotte was born and raised in Irving. She attended Irving schools,
graduating from Nimitz High School in 1984. Is a graduate of North Lake College in 1987 with a degree in Business Management
and then became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1989. She is active in Plymouth Park Baptist Church, Yellow
Rose Chapter of Ambucs and the Order of Eastern Star Grand Prairie Chapter. She is presently serving on the TFDA Board
of Directors where she also serves on the Ethics, Convention, Long Range Planning, and Membership Committees. She currently
serves as President of the North Texas Funeral Directors Association, and the Dallas County Funeral Directors Association
and is Vice President of the Advisory Board for Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. She is a site-team practitioner
for the American Board of Funeral Service. She received her Certified Funeral Service Practiotioner accreditation with
the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice in 2007.

Harrell W. Chism
Funeral Director
Vice-President
Graduated Cooper High School, Cooper, Texas in 1945, received
a BBA from the East Texas State University, attended the University of Texas and received a Master's degree from East Texas
State University in Business. Served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Graduated Gupton Jones of Mortuary
College - Dallas in 1955.
Mr. Chism is the former owner of Chism & Smith
Funeral Home in Irving, Texas.
Faternal Organiztions: Current member of
the Irving Masonic Lodge #1218 A.F. & A.M., former member of Delta Lodge #1240 A.F. & A.M., served as Master of that
Lodge the Masonic year of 1959-60.
Member of Hella Temple A.A.O.N.M.S Garland, Texas.
And its unit, Flying Fezzes-one of four organizers and served as the 1st. elected commander.
Irving Shrine Club, was 2nd President and is currently
serving as Chaplain.
Other Masonic affiliations - Yorkrite Bodies, Chapter Council
and Commandry, Life Member of Valley of Dallas Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland.
Civic Organizations: Was a deacon and Sunday school
teacher of First Baptist Church for 10 years. Was the director of the Senior Adult Department for 15 years at First
Baptist Church of Irving. Has been a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church for the past 15 years. He is an active
member of Irving Noon-Day Lions where he has held just about every office to be had. Has been active Lion International
for almost 50 years.
Past President of Dallas County Funeral Directors Association.
From 1977-78 was Dallas County Representative on a legislative committee to monitor the Texas Legislature concerning Funeral
Services in Texas.
Awards: Funeral Director of the year for North Texas
Funeral Directors Association in 2006. Funeral Director of the year of Dallas County Funeral Directors in 1995.

Austin E. Raney
Funeral Director
The newest addition to the Chapel of Roses Funeral Home Staff. He is a Navy
veteran, serving in Vietnam as a medic and was awarded two purple hearts for wounds he received in action. Austin is
a Past President of the Irving Kiwanis Club and North Texas Funeral Director's Association, and he was selected as Funeral
Director of the Year in 2002. He is currently active with Irving Schools Foundation Advisory Committee, IISD Scholarship
Committe, and various volunteer work with his church, Oakview Baptist Church of Irving. Austin enjoys his current participation
with the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club.

Melvin J. Crouch
Owner/President
Melvin was born and raised in Irving. He attended Irving schools and graduated
from Irving High School in 1957. Soon after high school Melvin went to work Lone Star Gas Company. In 1958 he
left the Gas Company and started with the City of Irving until 1972, when he started his own business, Big Red Utility Contractor.
Melvin has 1 daughter Debra Crouch Rusche of Irving and 1 son, James B. Crouch of Burleson, 1 grandson, Trae Rusche of
Irving.

Jody Smith
Licensed Pre-Need Counselor
Receptionist
Jody was born in New Orleans, La., soon after her family moved to Alabama and then
to Miami, Florida. She graduated from North Miami High School, Miami, Fl., in 1959. At age 19 Jody's
family moved to San Antonio where she attended San Antonio Junior College. In 1961 Jody moved to Dallas and took a job
with American Airlines as a stewardess. Jody then moved to Irving in 1964. She left American Airlines and took
a position with Trans Texas Airlines, which later became Continential Airlines, and she remained there until they filed
bankruptcy in 1983. From 1983 Jody worked for Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home as a Receptionist, Secretary
and Cosmotologist. She was then asked to come to work for a dear friend at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving where
she met and married one of the former owners, Ed Smith ( Mr. Smith died in 2006). Jody left Chism-Smith Funeral
Home in 1996 to work for Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home until she retired in July, 2007. Jody has one daughter, Krystal
and son-in-law Jim Porter and a grandson, Paul. Jody is a member of First Baptish Church in Irving where
she is a greeter, she is also a member of the Irving Red Hat Society. She was voted Ms. Congeniality in the 2007
Irving Ms. Mature Pagent. She is also Past President of the Irving Quilt Guild.

Cindy Morgan
Licensed Pre-Need Counselor
Cindy has lived in Irving since 1958, she graduated from MacArthur High School
in 1968. Cindy is also a retired Federal employee with 33 1/2 years of service. She has been a Licensed Pre-Arrangement
Counselor since 2004, she is a member and officer of the Irving Book Review Club, a member of Yellow Rose AMBUCS and a member
and secretary for Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Cindy is a mother of 2 sons, a proud grandmother of 1 grandson and
1 granddaughter.

Debra Crouch Rusche
Board of Directors
Secretary & Treasurer
Debra was born and raised in Irving. She is the daugher of M. J.
Crouch. Debra attended Irving schools, graduating from Nimitz High School in 1977. She has been a licensed
Cosmotologist since 1978. She is very active in her son's Elementary School PTA. She has been the PTA Treausrer
for the past 2 years. Debra also serves as Room Parent for her son's teacher and does volunteer work in the school Library.
