Lynn Murphy, Program Manager

We appreciate all the support from the hundreds of generous people that have contributed time, funds, skills and refreshments to enable us to do what we have done for those in need for the past 15 years. We are grateful for the ongoing commitment and support of the community.

Our Programs

What we do: Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit with a network of over 200 affiliates across the United States. Our mission is to preserve affordable housing by bringing volunteers and communities together to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners.

Who we help: There are 24-million low-income homeowners in America. That number is predicted to grow to an astonishing 28.5 million by 2010. More and more families are placed in the position of choosing between vital necessities over essential home repairs and modifications.

Rebuilding Together believes the disabled and elderly should be allowed to remain in their own homes whenever possible. We believe that homeowners displaced by natural disaster will get back into safe housing with help from the community. We believe that our nation's veterans who return with disabilities deserve a helping hand so they may return to their own homes in basic comfort.

National Initiatives:
National Rebuilding Day: The organization's annual signature event. This event occurs in April and is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and assembling the largest nationwide group of volunteers, from all walks of life, to repair and restore houses and non-profit facilities, revitalize entire communities and make a lasting impression on those families and individuals who are helped.

Safe & Healthy Homes: In addition to National Rebuilding Day in April, our affiliates are increasingly working year round in many parts of the country, delivering emergency services, home modifications and green building to conserve energy and consumption.

Disaster Relief & Recovery: Rebuilding Together - Disaster Recovery & Reconstruction Initiative serves to rebuild the houses of low-income homeowners and the capacity of our affiliate network in times of disaster. Currently Rebuild 1000 is well on the way to a goal of rebuilding 1000 homes on the Gulf coast.

Veterans Housing: Rebuilding Together-Veterans Housing Initiative was created to meet the growing needs of veterans from past and present wars. The initiative serves to fill the gaps in housing modifications and repair services that retired and active service men and women struggle to meet, often providing handicap modifications for veterans wounded in service to our country.
