Dear Rebuilding Together
Volunteers, Supporters, and Friends -
Congratulations
to all those who participated on National Rebuilding Day for continuing to serve America's low-income homeowners. It has been just over a week since we all were out in the greater Haverhill community, raking, hammering, painting and working together as a team. We are still finishing
up some projects, following up with homeowners and house captains to wrap up the loose ends and wanted to take a moment to
thank everyone involved that came together to make the annual event a great success.
The members
of the Haverhill Elks Lodge, as always, are the perfect hosts and provide great hospitality with help of the Groveland Congregational
Church volunteers. We would like to thank our major project sponsors and funding partners this year: Lowes Home Improvement,
Sear and Kmart, Pentucket Bank, Haverhill Bank, Georgetown Savings Bank, Dunkin Donuts of Saco, Maine and Trinity EMS, Griffin-White
Foundation and the Community Development Block Grant.
Many local
businesses donated food and building supplies, so please support these vendors in appreciation of their generous contributions:
Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods, Pepsi Bottling of Merrimack Valley, Demoula’s
Market Basket, Boston Coffee Cake, Spring Hill Pure Water, Jackson Lumber, White Street Paint, Shoe City Hardware, Aubuchon
Hardware, Castricone Roofing, Salem Plumbing Supply of Beverly, Home Depot, F.W.
Webb, Bradco Supplies, Beacon Electric, Holland’s Flowers and of course, the many fine local pizza establishments that
donated delicious pizzas at lunch time.
Below are links
to the many affiliates who hosted rebuilding days on April 25th, including the local coverage in our own local
newspapers Haverhill Gazette and Eagle Tribune. We are still in need of a few volunteers in the upcoming weeks to finish some key homeowner projects. If you
are available for finish carpentry, yard work, ramp assembly, window installing, tiling and other general handy projects for
safety and energy efficiency throughout the year, please contact our office. We are looking to expand and create year round
volunteer weekend warrior crews.
We will keep
you posted as our work to preserve affordable homeownership continues on the ground level in our communities throughout the
coming year. Best Regards,
Lynn Murphy
