A Brief History of New Hope Presbyterian Church

Our congregation's roots reach back to Wildwood Presbyterian Chapel (1944-1954) sponsored by Salem Presbyterian Church with people gathering in homes on Wildwood Road.  A chapel building was dedicated in 1949.  Wildwood Church (1954-1970) was organized as the congregation grew.  New Hope Presbyterian Church was organized by Montgomery Presbytery on September 27, 1970 as the congregation moved to our present site.  The Church House served as our worship center until the new sanctuary and administration wing was dedicated in March, 1978.  After several years of long-range planning, our congregation built and dedicated our Fellowship Hall in 2001, and made plans for a future educational wing.  In 2007, we saw our vision come to fruition.  Still under minor construction, we are blessed to have a new worship center for our youth and community activites, as well as new classrooms for our Sunday School program.  The church progresses confident of the word of the Lord to Jeremiah, the prophet, "I know the plans I have for you...to give you a future and a hope."  (Jeremiah 29:11)
