This is a site dedicated to the Lower Bucks County Football League (LBCL), a high school circuit that was
founded in 1935 and lasted through the 1981 season. Over its 47 seasons, the LBCL featured some of the best football
teams in Pennsylvania state high school history. The 1971 Neshaminy Redskins and 1974 Pennsbury Falcons are ranked among
the greatest single-season teams to ever play in the state.
In 1980, the league began scheduling non-league games with members of the Suburban One League (SOL), with
the anticipation of one day merging with the SOL.
The decision was made for the league prior to the 1981 season, when the Bristol School District merged the
operations of Woodrow Wilson and Delhaas into a new Harry S. Truman High School. Reduced to six teams, the LBCL was
now in a situation where they would be playing as many games out-of-league (five) as they could play in-league.
Thus, the decision to merge was hastened, and occurred in 1982. The LBCL ceased to exist at that point,
and its member teams remain, to this day, as members of the Suburban One League.
This site is dedicated to the players, coaches, student managers, statisticians, and fans of the Lower Bucks
County League.
