shutout innings, Offense puts up double digit hits and runs in victory
Chris Demers pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball in leading the Bluefish to an eventual 14-6 slugfest win over the Brewers on Thursday Night. Offensively, the Bluefish trio at the top (Recore, Becker, and Santosuosso) combined for 11 runs scored, and Santosuosso drove in 5 of the runs on 2 doubles and a single. The Brewers scored 6 runs in a matter of minutes, having the first 8 guys reach base in the 6th. Mike Muccio led the Brewers offense with 2 hits. The win was the Bluefish's 16th straight as the home team. Game 5 is scheduled for Friday Night, 7:30, at St.Peter's in Cambridge.

The Bluefish
evened the best of 7 YBL Championship series at 1, with a dominating
pitching performance from Chris Sandini. The young righthander held the
Brewers to 1 hits striking out 11. The Bluefish got on the board in the
top of the first when Jason Recore led off with a double and scored on an
error. In the seventh, they added two more on a single from Chris Hartery.
The series moves to St. Peter's Field in Cambridge for Game 3 Wednesday at
7:30 p.m.
Game 3: Game 3 was a great duel between Mike Lewis of the Brewers and Kyle Jones of the Bluefish. Lewis retired the first 11 of the night, and took a no-hitter into the 5th. Jones found himself in some trouble via the walk, but matched goose eggs until the 5th. With runners on 1st and 3rd and 2 outs, Jones commits a Balk, allowing Muccio to score from 3rd and give the Brewers a 1-0 lead. Bottom of the 5th, after Chris Hartery lead off with the 1st Bluefish hit, a 1 out hit batsman made it 1st and 2nd. Bluefish called for a double steal, in which the throw to 3rd got away, allowing Hartery to score from 3rd. After a ground out, Chris Demers' infield single with 2 outs scored the 2nd Bluefish run. To the 7th, after 2 walks and a sacrifice bunt, the Bluefish walk Iafolla to load the bases. Jones' 140th pitch of the night induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the game. Bluefish take a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 Thursday Night at Ronan, 7:30 start time.

Chris Demers complete game propelled the Bluefish to their first ever YBL Finals, defeating a tough Malden Bulldogs squad 4-1, to take the series by 3 games to 1. Al Becker had 3 hits, while Bobby Foote added 2 hits for the Bluefish. Evan Tardugno led the Bulldogs offense with 2 hits.

outs, Bluefish score 5 in 7th to take 1-0 series lead
Wild game at Maplewood. Malden scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st and rode the arm of Ken Olisky for 3 perfect innings, and a shutout through 4. In the 5th, after an error, Sean Glavin hit a long 2 run home run to tie the game at 2. As quickly as the Bluefish tied the game, Malden went ahead 4-2 on a long home run by Tom Englehart. It remained 4-2 into the 7th, where the Bluefish scored 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks, highlighted by a Mike Lembo single making it 4-3, a Jason Recore bases loaded walk that tied the game, a 2 run single by Al Becker making it 6-4, and a Bobby Foote Sac Fly. Bluefish starter Nate Titcomb, pitching for the first time in over 3 weeks, kept the Fish in it, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 4 runs. Matt Smith pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless 7 for the save.

Defeating the 9 time Champs
Two of the top hitting teams matched up in the rubber game of the 3 game series at Billings on Monday Night. Jon Morse and Chris Demers were on top of their games. Somerville scored first on an RBI Double by Justin Crisafulli, scoring the on base machine Sal Mendonca to make it 1-0. An error on the next play scored Crisafulli to make it 2-0. The Bluefish finally responded in the 5th. Chris Hartery's SF made it 2-1, and after an error to tie the game, Sean Glavin's RBI single to right made it 3-2 Bluefish. Demers went 6 up 6 down from there, propelling the Bluefish to a 3-2 win, and advancing the Bluefish to the Semifinals. Hats off to the Alibrandis, who were complete class throughout the series, and should be commended for one of the best runs in Amateur Sports, not only in Boston but anywhere.

Win This Year vs. Somerville
The Bluefish and Alibrandis battled in a tough pitcher's duel between the Bluefish's Chris Sandini and the Alibrandis' Jared Leiderman. Sandini came out on top, pitching a 4 hit shutout to lead the Bluefish to a 2-0 win. Both Bluefish runs were scored with 2 outs. YBL RBI Leader Chris Hartery singled home Jason Recore from 1st, and Al Becker singled home Mike Lembo in the 2nd. Leiderman threw very well in defeat, giving up only 5 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4. Game 2 is set for Sunday Night at Trum, gametime 8pm.

The Bluefish have been awarded a win over Cambridge for this Sunday's game, thus ending the regular season with 23 wins, which is a new team record (former record 22 in 2005). The playoffs will begin either Monday or Tuesday, with the first round opponent being either Medford or Somerville. The Somerville-Brewers game on Sunday will determine who the Bluefish's first round opponent will be. The team split both regular season series with each team. The forfeit win gives the Bluefish 13 wins in their last 15 games, and a 13-3 record since July 1st.

The Bluefish didn't get many hits, but the ones they did get counted. Chris Hartery's 3 run HR in the 3rd gave the Bluefish the lead for good as they defeated the Rockies by a score of 5-2 in what always is a friendly rivalry game between the 2 teams. Chris Santosuosso gave the Bluefish some insurance by hitting a 2 run HR to left in the 5th. Michael Close hit a long HR to right in the first for the Rockies, while Kevin Spitz went 2 for 3 in defeat. With the win, the Bluefish tie their single season high in wins with 22, with an opportunity to break it tomorrow afternoon versus the Cambridge Spinners, game time 1pm at Rogers Park in Brighton.

4th Straight Season with 20 wins, Defeat South End 9-5
Al Becker and Sean Glavin each hit Solo Home Runs in the first inning, propelling the Bluefish to a 9-5 win over South End on Friday Night at Rice. Becker, Glavin, Steve Mellor, and Mike Norsen each had 3 hits in the victory for the Bluefish. Matt Vezina was solid throughout on the mound for the Bluefish, taking a no-hitter into the 5th inning, before finally hitting some fatigue and finishing up allowing 5 hits.
Bluefish Sweep the Weekend in Norfolk
Defeat West Roxbury 10-0, and Brookline 7-0
The Bluefish defeated the Devils by a score of 10-0 at Pond St in Norfolk.
The offense was on fire from the beginning, with 3 extra base hits (Recore
Double, Caprio RBI Double, Glavin 2 RBI Triple) in the first inning
leading to 4 runs, and 3 more singles (Recore, Santosuosso 2 RBI, Caprio)
in the 2nd to score 3 more. Santosuosso's solo HR in the 4th extended the
lead to 8-0, and Chris Hartery's double 2 batters later made it 9-0. From
there, it was Kyle Jones and Matt Vezina on the mound combining on a 2 hit
shutout. Jones got the win going 5 innings, giving up 2 singles, while
walking 2 and striking out 7.

The Bluefish will be playing a few games in the suburbs, as Assistant Coach Al Becker has completed negotiations with the Town of Norfolk to play at the Pond Street Recreation Complex this coming Sunday versus the West Roxbury Devils and the Brookline Dodgers. Nate Titcomb and Anthony Leonelli combine on an 8 hit shutout, as the Bluefish defeat the Spinners by the score of 12-0. The offense was led by Chris Santosuosso (2-3, Grand Slam) and Mike Lembo (2-4 3 RBI).

the Brighton Brewers by a score of 8-1 on Sunday Night at Ronan Park. Matt
Vezina pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first career
win for the Bluefish. Offensively, five different Bluefish contributed
with multi-hit games, led by Jason Recore's 4 hit performance out of the
leadoff spot.

--Recore's 4 hits put him at 34 for the season, which leads the YBL as of
7/21.
--Chris Santosuosso continued his hot streak by collecting 3 more hits and
2 RBI. Santosuosso is currently on a 7 game hitting streak, where he 13
runs during the streak (11 in the last 4 games). He is also currently tied
for 3rd in the league with 29 hits.
--Al Becker collected 2 hits, to continue his current hitting streak to 8
games. Becker now has 28 hits on the season, which puts him in a tie for

Al Becker's grand slam broke a 2-2 tie and propelled the Bluefish to a 6-2 win on Saturday over Somerville at Trum Field. Becker went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. Chris Sandini picked up his 3rd win of the season going the distance. Skip and Suazz returned from their 3 game session in the naughty bin.

After being silenced for most of the day Sunday versus Medford, the Bluefish bats responded with 14 hits and many other hard hit balls in a 8-2 win on Monday Night at Savin Hill. 7 of the 9 Bluefish starters had at least 1 hit, with 6 out of 9 collecting multiple hits. Bobby Foote led the Bluefish offense with 3 hits and 3 RBI, while Becker, Hartery, Glavin, Recore, and Williams each collected 2 hits a piece.

The East Boston Bluefish carried a 5 game winning streak into it's game with Medford on Sunday, but it was the Maddogs that came out victorious by a score of 7-3. The Bluefish pitching was unable to find the plate all day, as 13 walks and 2 hit batsmen, along with 5 Medford hits dropped the Bluefish to 5-1. Santosuosso and Recore led the Bluefish offense with 2 hits a piece.

Chris Sandini pitched 6 shutout innings, leading the Bluefish to a 6-0 win over Savin Hill on Wednesday Night. Sandini gave up 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 11. Ian Titcomb made his Bluefish debut getting Savin Hill out 1,2,3, in the 7th with 2 strikeouts. The Bluefish offense was led by Jason Recore's 2 hits, 3 runs scored and 2 stolen bases out of the leadoff spot. Tyler Norton was very good on the mound for Savin Hill, holding the Bluefish to 2 hits over 4 2-3 innings, before 2 bases loaded walks did him in. Artie Posch played a strong defensive game behind the plate for the Bluefish.

Chris Demers pitched 5 innings of 2 hit shutout ball to lead the Bluefish to a 13-4 win over the McKay Club Friday Night at Ronan. Demers walked 1 and struck out 8 to pick up his 2nd win of the season. Offensively, the Bluefish were led by Chris Hartery (4 RBI) and Sean Glavin, who each had 3 hits, while Becker, Santosuosso, Posch, and Caprio each had 2 hits a piece. The 4-0 start is the best start in Bluefish franchise history.

Chris Caprio's RBI double with 2 outs in the 6th scoring Bobby Foote propelled the Bluefish to a 4-3 win over a tough Brighton Black Sox squad Tuesday Night at Rogers. Kyle Jones went the distance for the win, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 10. Aaron Greenblatt was tough on the mound all night for the Black Sox. He limited the Bluefish to only 2 hits entering the 6th inning, when the Bluefish finally got to him for 2 runs and 4 hits, capped off by Caprio's Double. Five different Black Sox had hits in defeat.

Becker and Caprio lead the offense to 14-4 win
It took a while to shake off the rust, but the Bluefish pulled through in defeating the South Boston Saints 14-4 on Monday Night at Ronan. In their first game in 7 days, Jon Tenney had shut the Bluefish down through 4 innings. But Southie went to the bullpen, and the Bluefish went to work, scoring 13 runs off 2 relievers in turning a 3-1 deficit into a 14-3 lead. Chris Caprio (4 RBI 1 HR) and Al Becker each had 3 hits in the win for East Boston, while Santosuosso, Hartery (3 RBI) and Glavin each had 2 hits. Wintrow and Stephenson each had 2 hits, and Sean Benoit hit a long HR for Southie in defeat.

Clearing Triple in the 6th Leads the Bluefish to a Comeback 6-5 win
On a cold night at Ross, the lights are what finally ended the game for both teams. The Bluefish rallied with 3 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th to tie their biggest comeback win in team history to defeat the Maddogs 6-5. Newcomer Chris Hartery put the Bluefish over the top with a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the 6th to cap off a 2-4 night with 4 RBI. Chris Demers picked up the win in relief, pitching out of a 1st and 2nd nobody out situation in the 6th. Kenny Luongo had both Maddog hits.
