Toe Troubles
Who knew vaccuuming could be dangerous?  Last Sunday, I dropped the vaccuum cleaner on my right foot and banged up my pinky toe pretty good.  It was sore and black and blue, so I went to the doctor on Monday and got X-Rays.  It turns out not to be broken, which is a good thing.  The doctor says it was probably just some ligament damage.  Of course, that sounds bad also, but apparently not nearly as bad.  Were there a fracture, I would have to try and stay off it for six weeks.  But without the fracture, it's just one week.  And today has been one week.

It feels much better, and I may actually try to go for an easy run this evening.  It's been 9 days since my last run, which I believe is my longest drought since I started logging miles in January 2005.  I also have a streak of at least 50 miles logged in every month since then, so that's 29 months and counting.  I am currently at just 25.5 for June, which means I'll need 24.5 more in the next 7 days to keep the streak alive.  50 miles isn't very much for me these days, so it seems weird that I would even have an issue reaching that total.  But injuries have kept me off my feet quite a bit in June, so this month might not make it.  24.5 miles in a week is certainly not all that much for me, but we'll have to wait and see how the toe feels tonight...

Well, I guess I've no real news, so this will have to do...

Vermont web page
Well, I finally got around to it.  I finally put up my webpage about the Vermont City Marathon.  It was 2 weeks ago, so I suppose that about the average delay for me.  Anyway, you can check that page out from the Photo Albums link on the Navigation Bar to the left.  Or you can just click here

Um, nothing else to report for now, I 'spose...

IT'S A GIRL
Yup, Maggie and I found out today that we will be having a baby girl.  Most importantly, Maggie and the baby are both perfectly healthy, as far as the doctors can tell.  The pregnancy is moving along just fine so far.

We had decided long ago that we wanted to know the sex of the baby as soon as possible.  Many people want to wait until the baby is born and be "surprised".  We figured that we're learning the same information those people learn.  We just learn it a few months earlier.  Thus we're just as "surprised" as they are.  But we're surprised while we still have enough time to buy the right colored stuff.

I really didn't care if it was a boy or a girl, just as long as it's healthy.  And since it seems to be, I am as happy as possible.  I do think, however, that I am a little more scared at having a girl.  I didn't have any siblings, and all the kids in my neighborhood when I was growing up were boys.  So I really have no clue about little girls.  I suppose I'll learn...

And yes, I am aware that I still haven't gotten any pictures posted yet from Vermont, like I promised.  I should have known that I'd procrastinate.  I'd like to promise that I'll get it to very soon, but that's probably also a lie, so I won't do that.  I'll just say that I'll get around to eventually...

Welcome to Bob Mann's web page.  I was looking around the internet recently and I thought to myself, "Gee, there aren't enough blogs out there.  What the world really needs is one more idiot throwing his every moronic thought into cyberspace."  And thus this page was born.

Of course, this site is a work in progress, and probably will remain so for quite a while.  Please feel free to poke around as much as you'd like.  And please send me any comments you may have.  Idiots like me who make these sites couldn't possibly make them better without input from idiots like you!
