Shower
Howdy. Quick post this evening. Maggie had her baby shower this past Sunday. What a concept this is!
We made out like bandits at this thing. We won't have to buy our daughter any clothes for at least a year. Heck,
she might not even need to wear the same outfit twice. We also got plenty of other great stuff from our family and friends.
It sure is quite a racket... in a good way.
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law both knitted blankets for our little girl. And my mom gave Maggie the blanket
and clothes that I wore home from the hospital all those years ago. I can't believe she kept that stuff all this time.
But it sure did make for a great gift...
About the only other thing to talk about this week... Football season! Woohoo! The Gators kick off their
season on Saturday vs Western Kentucky. So it won't be much of a game, but at least it's football season again...

It's been a while
Oops, I've just noticed that I haven't posted to the blog in quite a while. Oh well. I hope that all my loyal
readers have survived. These last few weeks haven't been without excitement. First and foremost, my father had
an emergency procedure to have his gall bladder removed a few weeks ago. Apparently it's a rather routine surgery, and
everything did go according to plan. But any time you have an organ removed from you body, I find it difficult to call
that "routine". Well, the good news is that he's fine, and he is getting better and returning to normal.
Maggie and the baby are still doing fine. She's a bit over 7 months now. The baby kicks every so often, but
she's not the most active child. We'll see if that lasts. Anyway, Maggie and I have taken infant care classes
and childbirth classes at the hospital, and we've both learned quite a lot from all this. The classes are all complete
now, and hopefully we'll remember everything when October 10 rolls around.
Oh, and marathon training is back underway for me. I'm signed up for the Philadelphia Marathon on Nov 18.
I had applied for the New York Marathon, but I didn't get in thru the lottery. Oh well, maybe next year. Anyway,
I would love to try to beat my best time ( 3:48:56 in Cincy) but I'm not sure I'll be at my best. The marathon is about 5 weeks after our daughter is due, and thus the heaviest
training weeks will be right around the time of the birth. I have a feeling that I might not be fully rested this fall,
and thus going for a PR might be a bit of a reach. We shall see.
Okay, that's enough news for now. I'll try not to go so long before the next post...

Welcome to Bob Mann's web page. I was looking around the internet recently and I thought to
myself, "Gee, there aren't enough blogs out there. What the world really needs is one more idiot throwing his every
moronic thought into cyberspace." And thus this page was born.
Of course, this site is a work in progress, and probably will remain so for quite a while.
Please feel free to poke around as much as you'd like. And please send me any comments you may have. Idiots like
me who make these sites couldn't possibly make them better without input from idiots like you!
