Taking off
Tomorrow I will be leaving for Green River, Wyoming. The Run With The Horses Marathon is on Saturday morning. I have a feeling that this will be a very slow race. The weather forecase for Green River
is calling for temperatures around 90 degrees. The race begins at 6:30am local time, so hopefully I'll be done before
it gets too hot. But still, I'm sure that it won't be comfortable. Combine the heat with the hilly terrain and
the high altitude, and I know I won't be threatening any Personal Records.
So what time am I predicting for myself? Frankly, I'll be happy as long as it's not my slowest-ever marathon.
That would mean I'd need to beat the 4:27 I got in Chicago in 2005. I'll guess that I'll be slightly faster than that,
and I'll predict a 4:20. I think I'm going to have to work hard to complete state #12.

Almost time for another one
In just a few days, I will be flying out west to run another marathon. The Run With The Horses Marathon in Green River, Wyoming is on Saturday. Oddly enough, this will be my first Saturday marathon, after 11 previous ones
that have all been on Sundays.
But of course the prevailing theme of this race will be that I will be running it without Joe, who passed away last month.
Since my wife won't be joining me this time, it means I will be spending my time in Wyoming all by myself. It will be
difficult not to spend time thinking about Joe. I'm not sure what there is to do out there, but I'll try to keep myself
entertained.
This looks like it will be a rather difficult marathon. But I won't be going for speed anyway. I just want
to finish it in one piece.

Welcome to Bob Mann's web page. I was looking around the internet recently and I thought to
myself, "Gee, there aren't enough blogs out there. What the world really needs is one more idiot throwing his every
moronic thought into cyberspace." And thus this page was born.
Of course, this site is a work in progress, and probably will remain so for quite a while.
Please feel free to poke around as much as you'd like. And please send me any comments you may have. Idiots like
me who make these sites couldn't possibly make them better without input from idiots like you!
