- The Delta Phenomenon by Welles Wilder
- Shareware calendar which can show the 4-day Delta cycle
- Source for the software: CalCom
- CalCom (01/06)
- Click "Products"
- Two useful products exist
- AllDay -- a general calendar program
- Shift Plan -- program we will convert to a Delta calendar
- Installing the Shift Plan software
- Download Splan.zip
- Unzip the file
- Perform an normal install
- Program will be named "Schichtplan" and be found in the Program Menu
- Converting the program to a Delta calendar
- Delete the unwanted German holidays
- Open Extras --> Events
- You will see a list of German holidays
- Click the first holiday to highlight it
- Hit CTRL+D, and you will see the holiday disappear from the list
- Keep hitting CTRL+D until all the holidays have been removed
- Change the German names to Delta
- Open Extras --> Options
- Click "Tagschicht" (Day Shift) to highlight it
- Right click it, and select Edit
- Change the name to "Delta" and the Code to "X"
- Click "Nachtschicht" (Night Shift) to highlight it
- Right click it, and select Edit
- Change the Code to NOTHING (empty)
- Set the 4-day cycle for Delta
- Open Extras --> Options if you are not already there
- Set the "Shift count" to 4, if necessary
- Set the language to English, if necessary
- Set the correct color code for Delta
- The date for Shift 1 should be Jan 1, 1997
- According to Delta, that day should be "Red"
- Left click the yellow box next to Shift 1, and relect RED; then OK
- Shift 2 has a color of blue -- no change is required
- Shift 3 has a color of orange -- no change OR change it to yellow
- Shift 4 has a color of green -- no change is required
- Save your changes, and the calendar has been set up correctly
- Instructions for changing the starting dates for various shifts
- Since the instructions are in German, I included these notes for completeness
- Double left-click on the date you wish to change
- A little window opens which shows a calendar
- Change the date as desired
- Then click "OK" to close the window
- Turning on the full capabilities of the program
- At this point your UNREGISTERED copy of the program will work correctly through the
end of the previous year
- You need to register the software in order to get the table for the current year and
beyond
- Running the program
- You can change the year by clicking the up/down arrows to the right of the date. You can
also type in the date manually.
- You can change which half of the year is shown by clicking either "1" or "2" which are
found to the right of the year.
- If you print out both halves of the year in landscape version, you have a nice yearly
chart.
- The little notepad on the second line at the top of the program controls the Shift
Pattern. I suggest that you leave that alone. I don't know EXACTLY how to use that table.
- The little calculator on the second line is disabled in both the demo and the
registered version.
- Unfortunately, the only instructions in the ZIP file are in German.
- Additional comments
- I installed AllDay which shows up in the Program Menu as AllDay --> AllDay.
- I added a shortcut to Schichtplan under the AllDay directory in Windows -->
Start Menu --> Program Files.
- I named this shortcut Delta Calendar. This groups both calendars under the same
directory in the Start --> Program Menu.
