About The Band
"Since 1974" 

WEEKLY MEETINGS

Day of the week.  The band meets on Wednesday, Thursday or on an evening which is appropriate.  See the Meetings and Gig Calendar Webpage for the current schedule and venue.

Where?  The Border Highlanders vary their band practices, but most of the time are at the Dahmen Barn for Artisans and Performing Artisans in Uniontown, WA. Sometimes the band meets at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, ID in the cool season, and frequently at Pioneer Park, in Lewiston, ID, in the summer.  See the  Meetings and Gig Calendar Webpage for specifics.

Times.  Pipe Chanter learners @  6:30; 7:00 p.m. for the band as a whole.  If you are intending to appear for a chanter learner session, first telephone the instructor, Pipe Major Kirk McMichael, at 509-332-2224 to be certain of the meeting place and to ensure that he will be there, at the appropriate time.  (Once you are attending chanter learners' sessions, McMichael will add you to his email list which announces meetings each week.)

JOINING AND LEARNING: 

The band welcomes visitors and those aspiring to become pipers or drummers. Mem-bers and those learning range in age  from primary-grade children to retirees, and in between.  Both genders are represented in the band and among those beginning.  To learn to play the pipes, email: Pipe Major Kirk McMichael, or telephone (509) 332-2224.

BURNS NIGHT.
