Hold Fast the Head

| From the blessings that have flowed from Calvary's tears? |
| Or shall we be held captive, as slaves in a tower, |

| Think ye the ritualist, with his tradition and law, | (2:20-23) |
| Need complete the work that Jesus has wrought? |
| Hath the mystic an answer unknown to His mind, | (2:18) |
| Can we beat our bodies and leave sin behind? | (2:23) |
| Nay! Nay! Shall it never be! |
| That we turn from gazing alone to Thee. |
| To seek addition from the world of man, |
| Is to deny the sufficiency of Thy hand. |
| Oh! How the enemy doth delight to say, |
| That saints need more than Christ today. |
| What shall we do against Satan's old lie? |
