Who are we, and why are we here?

We are a small assembly of Christians who gather around the Lord Jesus Christ alone relying upon the promised presence "...in the midst" (Matthew 18:20) to sustain and lead us through the wilderness world as we seek the World to come.

In addition, we recognize the Bible as the sole, authoritative Word of God and, as such have recourse to its sacred pages only, in the establishment of our faith and practices. Intimately bound up with the divine textbook is the divine teacher - the Holy Spirit. It is His solemn presence that we are cast upon to, "guide us into all truth" (John 16:13) and thus acquire a true and balanced understanding of God's Word and the wisdom to apply its teaching appropriately. This we understand to be possible because each believer has "the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16) and as such we possess the capacity to receive the "divine communications" by the indwelling Holy Spirit's ministry in the unfolding of Truth without allowing our minds to go beyond what is written!

In order to benefit from these Divine provisions, we have had to submit all of our religious paradigms to the searching light of God's Word, without exception or precondition. This was a humbling, yet liberating experience. Humbling to discover the extent to which man's intellect, traditions and emotional bias make up what is termed Christianity today. Liberating from the religious systems (denominationalism) of man's making to pursue "the ancient paths, where the good way is" (Jeremiah 6:16) A path characterized by "simplicity as to the Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3) ; obscurity, the cross and reproach as to the world; and unqualified and unquestioning obedience to the revealed Will of God - the Bible.

This has had some practical effects in our lives as Christians in the world. A few examples are: the rejection of denominationalism as sectarian, and clerisy (including the one-man ministry known as "the Pastor" so popular in Christendom) as a practical sin against the holy Spirit; the refusal of all man-made titles and credentials (i.e. reverend, Pastor, ThD, etc.) as promoting the former and undermining the Priesthood of all believers; the need to proclaim a clear "Grace Gospel" as defense against "Lordship" heresy; the nature, calling and pathway of Christ's Assembly as summarized in the title "body of Christ", "house of God" and "bride of Christ"; the need to distinguish Kingdom Teaching from Gospel passages and those that relate to the assembly as a “supra-mundane” entity.

These are some examples of the truths we are learning and want to pass along as "good stewards of the manifold Grace of God" (1 Peter 4:10). If you have questions, comments or concerns, we want to hear from you. It is our desire that "in all things, He might have the pre-eminence" (Colossians 1:18), to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Maranatha.
