All about my 1st year!
I'm 1yr old!

1yr old

Wow, what an adventurous year this has been for me, especially the past 3 months!!  I started walking a little before I turned 9 months old...took a brief break...and then never slowed down the week after I turned 9 months!!  I am currently "running" everywhere!!  I've got a big brother and little dog Jabee to catch!!  I'm also an amazing climber too.  If there is something in the room to climb on, I'm there - including the back of my brothers booster high chair!!  Mommy has also given up and even moved the stair gate up to the middle landing so that I can climb the lower stairs over and over and over and over again.  She say's it's easy entertainment!  I'm also a "little athlete" too and very coordinated!  I can throw a ball, kick a ball, and can even "shoot and score" in my toddler basketball goal - so much fun!!

Some of my favorite things to do are sliding and playing on my little play gym, dancing (he's got some major groove!), putting anything inside anything else or stacking, playing outside, pillow wrestling with Brady and Daddy, watching my Little People videos and playing with all my little people toys, riding on my fire truck, doing puzzles and I LOVE books.  Some of the things I really don't enjoy are being told "no",  having someone close a door so I can't enter a room and being confined to a car seat in the car.  Other than that, life is wonderful!!  I've learned so many things!!  I come when I'm called (usually), I'm a big helper in putting my shoes on, I'm very skilled at rearranging all Mommy's lower kitchen cabinets (daily!!), I understand very clearly the word "do not" and "no" (although I sometimes just smile and keep going) and I follow one-step commands very well!

Although my brother and I had a few tough months of adjusting to each other's boundaries, we are having SO MUCH FUN now!!  Brady loves to make me laugh and we can keep each other going for a good 10min!!  We're also starting to play "together" more with cars, all our "little people" stuff, and our favorite thing is playing "inside" our toy boxes and mommy's kitchen cabinets.

Over the past month or so I've just started blurting out lots of words too!  I can say duck, Jabee (jajee), Brady, ball, bear, up, Mamma, Dadda, shoe, and can sign the words please, all done, and more.  Although you can't understand me a lot of the time, I jabber pretty much non-stop!

I am eating all big boy food now too with some baby veggies thrown in every few days or so.  (I'm still not too fond of big people veggies!) I really enjoy my bottle too although I'm down to only my night night bottle now and will be loosing that right after my birthday party. But my sippy cup of milk is very yummy so the transition shouldn't be too bad!  I've also grown very attached to my little blue blanket.  It stays in my bed when I'm awake but boy do I get excited to see it when I get in bed... there have been occasions though of me sneaking in my room during the day and pulling it out of my crib - such a smart boy!!!

This has been one very exciting year!!
I know next year will be even better!!

(Nathan is such a little sweetie!  He LOVES to give hugs and his recent laugh is absolutely adorable!!  He keeps us cracked up with his funny facial expressions too. His little blue eyes and bright smile continue to bring us SO MUCH JOY!!)
