What I'm doing now (21mo)
Both our little boys are
so cuddly, but we call Nathan THE cuddle bug!! He loves to
snuggle, give Hugs, crawl up in our laps and he's just so cuddly
himself!! Very interesting since he's also our little social,
out-going, wrestler, and karate kicking boy too!! His uncle Mike
just got his black belt in karate, so he's recently learned the "hiy-yaa"
move and sound. We quickly tried to teach him to ask first before
"hiy-yaa"ing anyone!! AND he can only "hiy-ya" family members, NOT
friends!! He doesn't always follow those rules, so it's pretty
funny to watch his friends faces when he "hiy-ya's" them!!
Nathan's favorite things
right now are Character's and their faces!! He absolutely adores
the Wiggles, Blue's Clue's, Little People, Sesame Street, and the Vege
Tales Characters. If he see's them once, he's going to know their
name the next time. It's so funny to hear our little 21 month old
yell out Sponge Bob or Spiderman or other misc characters in a
store...and he doesn't even know who they are except what their name is.
If he doesn't know their name, he is very quick to say "WOAH, whosthat
mommy?"
Nathan is very outgoing
and has the cutest personality! He is our little people person,
desiring to be the center of attention in every occasion.
Definitely an entertainer and when we have people over (which is ALOT),
there is never a question of where Nathan is. He's going to be
sitting in someone's lap or going from person to person talking to them
or giving hugs....or possibly bringing them their shoes that they left
at the door! HE LOVES SHOES!!! In fact at the moment, I bet
I don't have a matching pair of shoes in my closet. Nathan loves
to get two different shoes and walk all over the house in them.
Then when he gets tired of those he goes and gets two more and leaves
those somewhere. Most mom's spend their time picking up toys - I
spend time on search missions for my shoes!! HAHA :) OH, and he
can even put on his own shoes ALL BY HIMSELF --- unvelcro, put on
and velcro back on the correct feet and all!! amazing!!!
Some of Nathan's other
favorite things are playing with trucks and cars, all his little animal
creatures, reading books, doing puzzles, coloring, playing outside!!,
and he still LOVES to dance!!! He's also recently learned how to
do a summersault and is currently working on getting two feet of the
ground when jumping. But he can stand on one foot like a pro!!
He has mastered all his shapes, knows most of his colors and probably
knows about 1/2 the alphabet about 1/2 the time. :) He loves to
play clueless...so it takes me by surprise when he just rambles off all
the right letters in a word he see's!
Nathan also loves
to sing!!!! He knows alot of songs completely through - like
Wheels on the bus, Twinkle Twinkle little Star, One two buckle shoe, Old
McDonald, Jesus Loves Me, He's got the whole world, Zacheus, and
lots of others - especially if it's a Wiggle's song!! Did I
mention, HE LOVES the Wiggles!!! Nathan can also recite numbers
really well too up to about 20 and is beginning to count objects
correctly too. Such a smart little guy!! OH, and he's also
recently changed his vocabulary from a loud "NO" to a polite and soft
"No, thank you Mommy" (Daddy, Brady, etc...) So polite and he
say's Thank you all by himself in all the right occasions about
99% of the time now!! It still catches me off guard sometimes and
just makes me smile!
Nathan & Brady -
brotherly love!!! I just couldn't picture Nathan without Brady or
vice versa!! They LOVE to play together. I've had some of
the greatest moments this year just watching from afar my two precious
boys ...brothers....becoming such great friends.
It's a joy I couldn't describe in words.
Overall, the past few
months have been so wonderful watching Nathan turn into a full fledge
on-the-go toddler adventuring into the world of make-believe, creativity
and exploration! He's just such a sweet joy to us and everyone
he's around!
