SAI conducts studies on a wide range of strategic and
military analysis topics. SAI consultants have completed studies for the U.S.
Department of Defense, as well as for private organizations and firms, on topics
related to:
- Combat modeling: For example, previous studies
have examined the military trade-offs related to different basing arrangements
for U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf region and Northeast Asia
- Force structure analysis: Previous studies have
assessed the sufficiency of Taiwan’s current military force structure in
near-future scenarios involving China-Taiwan hostilities
- Missile proliferation: Previous studies have
investigated the effects of missile proliferation on the defense plans of
various countries in East Asia
- Chemical and biological weapons proliferation:
SAI consultants have considerable expertise on a range of issues related to
chemical and biological weapons (CBW). Previous projects have identified
approaches for:
- defending fixed facilities against terrorist CBW
attacks;
- determining the medical requirements and plans needed
for consequence management after a CBW incident;
- assessing the effects of enemy CBW attacks on existing
war plans;
- evaluating options for offensive operations against
suspected chemical, biological, and nuclear facilities
- Prioritization of weapons procurement plans: SAI
consultants conduct military analyses to help decision makers prioritize among
competing defense needs.
SAI will undertake projects for the U.S. government,
governments friendly to the United States, defense contractors, and other
organizations. SAI specializes in providing non-partisan, independent analyses
to give decision makers an alternative view about the trade-offs inherent
in the defense planning and weapons procurement decisions they face.
