Great for those of us who are lactose intolerant &/or allergic to eggs!

Non-Dairy Egg-Free Chocolate Cake

  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. vinegar
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. salad oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. Hershey’s cocoa
  • 2 c. cold water
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  1. In large bowl, mix by hand flour, sugar, salt, cocoa and baking soda.
  2. Add vinegar, oil, vanilla, and water
  3. Mix by hand
  4. Bake at 350 in 9x13 in pan
  5. Test at 30-35min
If smaller cake is desired, halve the recipe and bake in a 9x9 inch pan.
 
I'm looking forward to trying this one out, since I'm allergic to eggs, but I love chocolate cake. Thanks to my daughter-in-law Desireé for sending this to me!

* Top with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired...
but doesn't that defeat the purpose of making it non-dairy?!
