Hoax Descriptions
- This site provides a list of mostly online hoaxes.
All hoaxes have a name, and so you can browse for them, get
the latest hoaxes, or search for them. This is one of the
main databases of online hoaxes.
- McAfee Virus
Hoaxes
- McAfee list of hoaxes is more restrictive and if you
are just looking for virus hoaxes, this is a good place to
check them out.
- Don't
Spread That Hoax
- This site provides a variety of types of hoaxes and
urban legends. It has a different look than the others and
is more interesting to read.
But the three sites I end
up at mostly when I research a hoax via Google are
Snopes (also called
Urban Legends),
Truth or Fiction,
and Break The Chain.
- Museum of Hoaxes
- Most hoax sites describe online hoaxes, often hoax
viruses. This site obviously is different. Hoaxes are
listed by year, going back to the year 750. Makes one
wonder if the hoaxes described is just a hoax. Anyway,
enjoy reading it.
