First we'll start with some business news.

Google News
I find that Google News is the best source for general news of all kinds. There's the top stories, then world and U.S., business, sports, tech, and entertainment. The home page gives the top stories in these areas. and then has links to hundreds more from different sources. And the access is quick, like you'd expect from Google. Of course, when you go to the linked sites for the stories, that is not Google.

But, if you want news of things that happened recently, Google is not the place to find it. As an example, there were the shootings at Virgina Tech, killing many people at two separate times, 2 hours apart. Google only showed headlines and articles about the first shooting, killing one. And this was an hour after the second series of killings, of over 21 people. I went to other places, like Yahoo News, and CNN news, and my local TV stations, and they all had the latest news.

CNN
CNN, like the other network sites:   ABC ,   NBC ,   CBS,   FOX,   provide you with the major news stories and breaking news. They are also trying to be portals, so that there is more to them than news.
I like ABC the best. It appears to have the most, with the best layout.
Major links on CBS have a background color that hides what the links say.
NBC has tried to push some software onto you in order to use certain parts of their site, even if you are not trying to access that portion.

The Why Files
There's news and then there's 'What are they talking about?' The Why Files helps you understand how things happen that you read about in the news, by presenting the science, math, and technology behind the news. It's really a good place to go to better undestand much of what you read. It's presented by the University of Wisconsin.

World Net Daily
An online newspaper published by Joseph Farah that says it is 'committed to hard-hitting investigative reporting of government waste, fraud and abuse'. There are plenty of news and links to articles on terrorism and the Middle East. Joseph Farah is an Arab American who is also a weekly columnist for the International Edition of the Jerusalem Post. As a Christian Arab, he is one who understands the dangers of the Palestinians and the Islamist terrorists to Western society.

News Hub
For the latest news try the News Hub. They say they ' integrate and report headlines from the world's premiere news sources every 15 minutes.'

World Press Review
Find out what various newspapers around the world are saying, second hand. This is not a link to articles in papers, but a discussion of what is being written. Suppose this is more of a magazine. It is interesting to read some of the nonsense coming out of the Arab press.
