FAQ:
  • Q1. How do I get rid of the About Box?
  • A1. In the autorun section, add a line "HideAbout=1"

  • Q2. Can I rename the file?
  • A2. Yes, but you must rename the ini file to match. For example, if you rename autorun.exe to setup.exe, then you must rename autorun.ini to setup.ini.

  • Q3. When I tried playing with some of the bitmap settings, why didn't they seem to work on the standard bitmap?
  • A3. The bitmap setting are ignored if you do not specify a bitmap file. You can use the included CompanyLogo.bmp in the Advanced directory.

  • Q4. Why I don't I see the Advanced directory and why did I get an error about the autorun.exe already existing when I extracted the files?
  • A4. You need to preserve the directory structure when you extract the file from the zip file. In WinZip, be sure "Use folder names" is checked. Other zip handling programs should have a similar setting.

  • Q5. If I'm going to make a donation, how much should I donate?
  • A5. Whatever you think is appropriate. You could add up how much it would have cost you to write a program with this fuctionality. Then, subtract how much it cost you to configure E_Cat, which I hope is much less. Then, divide your savings in half. Alternatively, if you don't want to do all that adding, subtracting and dividing, you could just send me a million dollars. :) I'm not holding my breath on that happening.

  • Q6. What if I have a suggestion or found a problem?
  • A6. Send me an email using the link below.

  • Q7. Do I really have to do a good deed if I don't donate?
  • A7. Yes.

  • Q8. Is it a coincidence that for version 2.0.2 all the files in the zip file have a time of 2:02?
  • A8. No.

  • Q9. What's new in version 2.0.2?
  • A9. You can change the color of the text and dialog box. You can resize the dialog box. You can launch one of your executables at startup. You can run your executables hidden. You can chain a sequence of executables. See the advanced autorun.ini for examples.
