VA I-66 Flyover


All columns for the VA I-66 K Route Orange line flyover have been completed. As of 10 24 2010 11 of the 40 span beams remain to be set. The span are a combination of precast concrete and fabricated steel. 18 on outbound track N1, 8 steel, 10 concrete, 22 on inbound track N1, 7 steel, 15 concrete.

All of the precast concrete beams have been set north of VA I-66 in the VA-267 median. There are 2 on trailers waiting to be set at the east end of outbound bridge.

The steel beam are being used on the spans over westbound VA I-66, the K Route Orange line tracks and over the future yard lead into Falls Church yard from the N Route.

The Contractor has begun pouring the track bed on the west end of precast concrete beams working east.
