In a Guided Improvisation, the student improvises on a given scale. The teacher guides him/her by making suggestions
regarding range (extending the scale higher or lower), phrase length, adding longer or faster notes, etc.
In this planetary suite, different scale types help set the mood for space AND musical exploration.
The Moon features octaves and half steps. Venus uses the whole tone scale and the thrids found in
it. Mars alternates between major and minor.
