Why Don't Black-Americans Understand their Indian Heritage?

Black Americans today have conflict and are confused about their American Indian lineage connection from their ancestral grandparents as it relates to the people labeled Negro.  Why the confusion between the two terms?  What is the real ancestral identity and where is the homeland belonging exclusively to people termed Black American today?

The Intention of this article is to answer these questions with facts about the racial identity of the Original People labeled, “ Indigenous Peoples of North America”, who are they today, and what actually happened to the ancestral identity that caused their descendants not to be recognized in there homeland today?  The relationship/agenda of the European colonialists towards the Indigenous Peoples of North America in Early American History is the foundation for institutionalized and systematic racism by the United States today.  The question would be what was the real purpose for the development of slavery in this land called America (Tula-Turtle Island)?

There are a number of studies that explore the growth of racial prejudice in America, which are in total, rather contradictory about the nature of the prejudice at the time of contact with the europeans.  lt is perhaps enough to call the settlers naive and to point out that color prejudice has a long, long history in European culture in general.  Nearly everything we know about Amerindian society at the time of contact with the Europeans is filtered through European eyes, and translated into European concepts. There were over 40 nations with millions of people in each nation within America before colonization.  At all periods, in all places, the European culture tried to shoehorn Amerindian behavior and customs into some concept that they, (the Europeans) could understand. Thus developed the land grabs, the early enslavement, and hostage taking disguised as Europeanization and Christianization of all Amerindian people.

It is told that in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue and discovered a new land and named the people Indigenous Peoples of North America because he thought he was in India.  However, during Columbus’s time, “what we now call India was named, Bharat” and he only sailed to the island of what we now call Cuba, but he named it, “Hispaniola” which is an island off the coast of the Continent of North America.  Over the last 70 years, education in Early American “His-story” has omitted the true racial identity of the Indigenous people called, “Indigenous Peoples of North America” and their perpetual enslavement for control of their heritage homeland.  Instead, Early American History has been replaced with a romanticized European version of southwestern Indians and Negro slaves presumed to be from Africa (called Negroes).  However, this is false.  Today’s  Black Americans’ perception of the racial identity of the  so called Indians and the homeland origins of the Negro is to say at the least, an inaccurate one, based upon European Concepts.

Today, Black Americans can identify one or more of their Indian ancestors, while most cannot trace an African ancestor.  The confusion about the validity of their Indian Ancestry is based on the confusion but false European racial images of what an Amerindian looks like.  It has never been shown how the Indigenous Peoples perceive themselves.  The deception to erase the absolute truth of racial identity of the Original American people is so deeply rooted in the United States past that the truth is repeatedly ignored in favor of the romanticized ideal that maintains its control, exploitation and genocide of the real descendants of the indigenous American people.

Today, this deception is perpetuated by Hollywood, government funded educational institutions, and the mass media.  The deliberate amnesia by the United States, of the fact that the racial identity of the original American (called Indian) is brown, “termed red, which is now called black”; and the fact that the black Americans are one group of the descendants of the inheritors/owners of this land called America, and the existing people (Indigenous Peoples of North America) were enslaved and renamed negro on their own land, all, has far reaching effects.

The result of this amnesia and deception has created a confusion of identity within the consciousness of today’s black Americans, resulting in distorted romanticism of belonging to West Africa.  When the Europeans first arrived, there were millions of indigenous people in America; those we call Mexicans or Hispanics, in the west coast and those who traveled from the bearing straits and resided in the west and east coast.  Millions of  Indigenous Peoples of North America were in the east coast. Europeans have asserted that these millions of Indigenous Peoples of North America on the east coast are dead or were murdered by European diseases and the rest migrated to the west coast.

What should be questioned is how could millions of people just disappear off the planet, “were they taken by aliens”?  In order to solve the issue we need to do the math for only math makes sense, we know that one + one = two.  In the majority of his-story books the date of Negro slavery starts in 1690.  The statistics given by these books are as follows:  “12 million to a reported 50 million slaves were brought from Africa to America” from the 15th throughout the 19th Centuries.  PBS, in their online outline of history, reports “each trip from continent to continent took 4 to 5 months, depending on the weather.”

Negro slavery questionably lasted for 400 years with a total of 12 million slaves (as reported by PBS) being brought from Africa to America.  We must start the equation in order to solve this mathematical problem.  First we divide 12 million African slaves by 400 years, which comes to a total of 30,000 Africans per year; divide by 12 months for a total of 2500 Africans per month. However, PBS on-line website reports, “each slave ship could only hold a maximum of 222.2 Africans, plus a crew of 75 armed Europeans, on a 7 month journey”.  I estimated the journey to come out to 88, 880 African slaves in a four hundred year period.  Clearly this does not add up to 12 million by the 1900’s. Since math is the only thing that makes sense these numbers do not add up to what European history has presumed, therefore, this story is incorrect.

Wouldn’t the nations of Africa know that 12 million to an astonishing 50 million people disappeared?  On the Tanzania population census, Tanzania reports, “a population of 12 million people in 1967 and 34, 569,232 in the year 2002.”

The only way to make millions of Indigenous Peoples of North America disappear would be by taking away and destroying their status, nationality, heritage, and history through enslavement, torture and persecution.  The enslavement of millions of Indigenous Peoples of North America started with the enslavement of the woman.  The story of Niagara Falls is a tragic one; Europeans threw the Amerindian women off the falls and others they beheaded.  By traumatizing and enslaving the women, she would raise her child to submit to the slavery.  Because of this holocaust the majority of Indigenous Peoples chose to deny their heritage and culture in order to save there children. The Indigenous Peoples of North America ceased teaching their children who they were, in order to save their lives from this tragic holocaust. This is why the majority of the people now termed; “Black Americans” only know of their Indian grandmother and grandfather a nothing else of their grandparent’s history indigenous (Indian).

As the labels of indigenous people were being stripped, the majority of these people accepted the racial identification of the Europeans.  The first census started in 1790’s to the 1920’s labeling Indigenous Peoples of North America from nigger, to colored, to mulatto, to Negro, to black.  What did the enumerators (census takers) tax collectors or the writer of deeds see when they wrote down names, and how did that compare with the reality, and the unrecorded identity of the people being recorded?

In the 1790 census, enumerators were told to tell race by skin complexion, as the record-keepers assumed that the Indigenous Peoples of North America had all died or gone west there had to be a category for these people. The category of convenience was "free mulatto.”  Slightly more careful record-keepers used the alternative term, "free person of color" when classifying.  As lands on the eastern shores were taken from the Indigenous Peoples of North America the status of “free person of color” changed to “colored” in the 1800’s. Also in those census records census takers were told to “list Mexicans or Hispanics as white.”  Through racism and land theft, the darker skinned people were presumed to be enslaved Africans.

Looking at the historical record of Europeans in their descriptions unveils the fraud of this perception.  In 1612 John Smith, the first English explorer, described the color of the people when he landed on the eastern shore of America in Jamestown, Virginia, He described Powhattan, the Algonquin chief he had encountered to look more “like a devil than a man, with some two hundred or more men as “Black as himself.”

In the book Letters & Notes on the North American Indigenous Peoples of North America written in 1841, by Author George Catlin, a noted ethnographer describes American Indigenous Peoples of North America as:  “All primitive tribes known in America are dark, copper-colored with jet-black hair while most possessed curls in the extreme (which today is considered nappy hair), and every level of wavy hair in between.  The texture of the hair is generally fine, soft as silk or coarse and harsh” Catlin also noted, “The hair of men falling down to the hams and sometimes to the ground, is divided into plaits or slabs two inches wide, and filled with a profusion of glue and earth, which becomes very hard and remains unchanged from year to year.  (Today this form of hair is called “locks”)

In 1683 William Penn wrote a book called, “The Indians of Philadelphia”. On page 3 of that book, he described their complexion and features as, “For their person, they are generally tall, straight, well built, and of singular proportion; they tread strong and clever, and mostly walk with a lofty chin.  Of complexion black,”

In 1824, Constantine Snow Rafinesque wrote in his book Annals of Nature and Friend of Knowledge, about this topic too.  On page 85-86 he writes about these Primitive Black Nations of the Americas, he says on Page 85, “My second Memoir is on the Negroe or Black Nations, found in America before Columbus, wherein I proved their existence”; on page 86 he says, To many, this fact of old Black Nations in America will be new yet it is an important part of American History”.  Constantine wrote a memoir in French that he sent to the Society of Geography in 1834 about this Black/Negroe Nations.  This memoir I have at this time transcribed seven pages, this memoir has only been seen by a few European descent writers but, not so-called Black historians.  In this Memoir, title “The Report on the Origin of the Negroe Nations or Introduction to the History of Indigenous Negroes he reiterates this knowledge of Indigenous Negroes again he says, “It seems that it is a paradox to announce that there were Negroes in America before Christopher Columbus in 1492.  However it is a fact; a lot of writers mentioned it but this historical fact that is so important was neglected by almost all the people who wrote about America, just like so many others who substituted to it wrong or unproven hypotheses.”

During the writing of George Catlin’ book, the last wars between Europeans and Ameridians on the east coast (now Florida), lasted for 7 years from 1835-1842, when Florida was finally seeded to the United States.  How could only a few Indigenous Peoples of North America fight such a war?  As we recall in European history, most of all the ‘Indigenous Peoples of North America” were killed or forced to the west.  How could so few stand up against 200,000 of the  United States troops, wound 1500 soldiers, and kill an uncounted amount of Europeans citizens.  How many Indigenous Peoples of North America were there? “ I thought the Indigenous Peoples all but died out”.

Because of status and race change by the Europeans and Elite Black-Americans it has left the Indigenous Peoples (Black-Americans) on the outside looking in, not knowing what really has happened to the inheritance of this land from their ancestors.  Even though, every “black american” person in America can tell you they have an “Indian grandmother or grandfather.”

How could only a handful of indigenous people mate with tens of millions to Hundreds of Millions of enslaved Africans?  They say the best way to fool someone is to put it in their face, I would say, “the best way to steal a land is to teach the people to  erase their identity, history, and culture and teach them through a European school system that they came from somewhere else.

The Blacks-Americans (Indigenous Peoples of North America) have gone through the greatest holocaust in the world, the greatest lie in the world and are still going through it, as now they are foreigners/refugees in their own land.  The holocaust will never stop until the black Americans recognize their cultural and heritage identity to the land called America, specially the United States.

Many opportunistic people and nations have benefited off this lie, “The riches of america outweigh, the life of the people like the feather on a scale”.  Although the lies have been unveiled, as in “Roots hypocrisy.”  So-called “black americans are moving on emotion instead of rational deduction and intense research.

From an article written by Stanley Crouch for the Jewish World Review:  “In the early 1980s, when Alex Haley, the author of "Roots," was speaking at the Lincoln Center, investigative reporter Philip Nobile asked him a straightforward question. Since he had paid Harold Courlander $650,000 in a plagiarism suit, (on which Courlander wrote a novel entitled “The African”) why should Haley be considered a hero instead of a criminal?  Haley had no answer.  Federal Judge Robert Ward, who presided over the plagiarism case, protected Haley's reputation.  Ward urged Courlander - author of "The African".  Haley pillaged - to be quiet about his huge settlement.  Ward thought that Haley had become too important to black people to be torn down in public.  Courland says, “As I said once before in this column a few years ago”, that was paternalism at its very worst”: Treat them like children; they can't handle the truth”, said Crouch.

Millions are made by book sales and millions are made by showing the movie Roots on television as well as  books sales, “Roots" has also brought millions of  black american tourist dollars to Gambia, one Gambian said to Stanley Crouch, "Yes, it is a lie but it is a good lie."

From personal experience, I have heard a “black” radio station, WHAT~1340AM and WURD 900AM, give commercial ads for Black-Americans to go to Gambia to meet kunta kenta’s living relatives.  This is a way to keep the lie going and for some European Leaders, African Leaders, Black-American Leaders, and Asian Leaders (not the people) to benefit from the ignorance of the so-called Black-Americans lost and destroyed history.  For if, this information would come out on a mass level and seriously pushed as a movement, things would change for our people in the blink of an eye.  For with this knowledge we have our trump card.  This essay is written to explain the truth and lies about the history of North America (Turtle Island or Tula) and the truth of the people.  This article is not to be taken on face value, because that is the problem, people read and do not research for themselves.
