Company ProfileCarey's Fine Automobiles has been in the Carey family for over three generations. The business was started by Maurice Carey in 1913 at 3rd and G Streets in San Bernardino. The first car off the lot was a 1911 Buick, sold to the local blacksmith, Allen Iron works. In 1942, Ray Carey became a co-owner and moved the business to 435 North D Street. After 15years successful years at that location, more space was needed and the Carey's moved to their present location at 645 North D Street. In 1959, Ray Carey's son Bill became the third family member to own the business. Before taking over Carey's Fine Automobiles from his father, Bill served his apprenticeship by starting as a lot boy and worked his way through sales and reconditioning. He went on to work for several new car dealerships in Orange and San Bernardino counties, holding positions as sales Manager, Finance Manager, and General Manager. He furthered his industry knowledge by working for several years as a Factory Representative for General Motors. ABOUT THE OWNER Having cut his teeth in the automotive business, it didn't take long for young Bill Carey to become interested in Hot Rods. In the late 50's and early 60's Bill was always tinkering with one project or another, cutting an old car apart to change it, or squeezing a few more horsepower out of an old Ford flathead. This hobby soon became a passion that Bill still has today. With a wife and two daughters, Bill doesn’t have the time to do as much hands on crafting as he once did, but he has a collection of some of the finest examples of that craft in the country, many of which are in his inventory and available for sale.
