Flute Choir Classes and Clinics

Wish to inspire your flute choir? As a distinguished conductor of flute choirs around the world, Carol offers classics and clinics to flute ensembles of all sizes, ages and abilities.

  • Guest Conducting

Carol is masterful at conducting flute ensembles. She is clear in communicating her ideas through the baton and is detailed in her rehearsal techniques. She works with ensemble directors to mutually choose a program that will lead toward a formal concert presentation. Her musical sensitivity will bring out the best blend of sounds and colors in the ensemble.

  • Flute Choir Festival/Master Class

A successful regional approach that will bring amateur and professional flute players together is the organization of a Flute Choir Festival or Master Class. These gatherings allow area choirs to rehearse and perform for each other. They give conductors and ensemble members a chance to be evaluated and tutored for enhanced performance. Festivals often close with a combined choir which has rehearsed to present a public concert.

    • Flute Choir Directors Seminar

Carol offers the benefit of her years of experience as a conductor to other flute choir directors. Topics of a seminar offering may include: organizing a flute choir, rehearsal suggestions (including tuning and warm-up), preparing a program, discussion of repertoire with various levels of music, and conducting tips.

    • Starting a Flute Choir--Guide for Band Directors and Private Teachers

Flute choirs build strength in the band program, and give private teachers an avenue through which students may share their talents in an ensemble setting. Carol's class in starting a flute choir will get you off and running! Topics of the class include: why organize a flute choir, how to create a program, what instruments are needed, beginning repertoire and rehearsal performance suggestions.
