The Reverend Caroline B. Edge
Senior Pastor

Pastor Edge was appointed to serve the church in the summer of 2000.   Pastor Caroline B. Edge is an ordained elder in the New England Conference who has served for 31 years in churches in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She also served as District Superintendent for the Central District of Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

 

The Reverend Stuart R. Tucker

Assistant to the Pastor

Pastor Tucker joined the church staff in the fall of 2004.   Pastor Tucker is an ordained elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference who has served for 24 years in churches in Illinois, Indiana and North Carolina before retiring in 2005.  He is a graduate of the Divinity School, Duke University.
 

The Reverend John Christian "JC" Mitchell

Program Coordinator and Youth Worker

J.C. joined the church staff in the summer of 2004.  J.C. is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School.  He hopes you find Carter Memorial welcoming to all ages for worship and spiritual growth.  programcoordinator@carterumc.org

 

Millie Beane

Director of Music

Dr. Beane is one of the foremost Church Choral Conductors in New England. She has developed and sustained an outstanding music program at Carter Memorial United Methodist Church for over thirty years. Millie is known for conducting the Needham Interfaith Chorale in concerts centered around the Spirituals of the African-American tradition as well as Brahms' Requiem. Under Millie's leadership, the choirs have produced two choral CD's, one entitled Songs of Prayer and Praise, and one a Christmas CD entitled The Joys of Christmas, that includes the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, small ensembles, instrumentalists, and an original piano composition by Aaron Rosenthal.  The sponsor for the Christmas CD project was The Preachers' Aid Society of New England.

 

Aaron Rosenthal

Organist

 

Organist Aaron Rosenthal plays piano and organ at Carter Memorial, where he also serves as choir accompanist.  He teaches music privately and at the Gann Academy (Waltham, MA) and also works as a freelance pianist, composer and arranger around the greater Boston area.  Aaron particularly enjoys composing solo piano, choral, and chamber music, and he focuses on writing for musicians of all ages and experience.  One of his most frequently performed works -- Voices of Terezin, a setting of children's poetry from the Holocaust  -- can be found at http://www.coroallegro.org/store/index.php.

 

Kathie Zeman

Office Manager

 

Kathie joined the staff at Carter in the fall of 2000 and is essential to all ministries here at Carter Memorial.  Her email is office@carterumc.org and the office hours are 8:30 am - 1:30 pm Monday through Friday.  Summer office hours for July and August are 8:30 am - Noon.
