Creative Work

"There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays,

"And every single one of them is right!"

- Rudyard Kipling, In the Neolithic Age

I write poetry, although I don't get all highfalutin' about calling myself a poet. I think some of it is pretty good, so I went ahead and got it self-published through Lulu.com an on-demand press that allows anyone to self-publish without any upfront costs. The title is pretty much the same as that of my website:

The Words Swim, Waiting: Selected Poems, 1983 - 2005

Here's a sample of what's in there:

Heralds

Three herons brought Spring back to me today.
They sat, hunched on bare boughs above water
(Scant shelter from the unfriendly eye of day)
Watching the deep jade river flow,
Watching the fire-emerald new shoots growing.
Watching me, too, with some suspicion;
Although one, not immune to compliment
Took my praise as excuse to preen itself,
Dagger-bill arranging the thistledown feathers,
And then resumed a dozing journey to sundown.

There's more at the Lulu site, so check it out...

I also write fiction (I have a fantasy novel out collecting rejection slips...), LARP, and other things. Eventually, I will link to some of them here. For more random creative output, and whatever else strikes my fancy, I have a Live Journal- fell free to check it out... no guarantee on content there.
