Bicycle Wood Wheels

I had a set of wooden rims and felt they would make a neat wall hanging. Things evolved, space shrunk, and I now have a hanging wheel set above the entrance to my study. A light touch sends them spinning, and I'm on a roll!

The hubs are 32/36 spoke while the rims are 36 spoke. So the front rim is laced creatively, and unrideable.

The frame is 3/8" titanium tubing which I cut, fit and polished.

I carved the dropouts from small blocks 6061 aluminum.

The hubs are Campy C-Record, probably the most beautiful hubs made, polished to a luster.

A friend and I tig welded it using tacks on both sides.

The spokes and nipples were polished of course.
