Mission Statement

The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (NHBW, Inc.) is a charitable corporation dedicated to improving the lives of Black families through support of the arts, culture, health, and human service programs.

National Hook-Up of Black Women, District of Columbia Chapter

        Our Goals:

  • Provide a communications network for the millions of Black women dedicated to improving the status of the Black community.
  • Create and implement a Black women's agenda that will be acceptable to and supportable by a broad sprectrum of Black women, in their diversity as individuals and as a group of women across the nation.
  • Present more fully the achievements of Black women and make more visible their significant contributions to society.
