Two new drop-off recycling sites have been added: Carroll County - Lake Mohawk (at the gate) and Columbiana County - Beaver Creek State Park (by the Park office).
The District is accepting more plastics at the drop off sites! #1 through #7 plastic food containers (except for styrofoam) can now be placed in the recycling bins. Items like laundry and dish soap bottles are still accepted.
If you missed the District's annual Appliance and Electronics recycling events, you can still recycle these items. A&A Tire in Carrollton (330-863-1936), Countryside Recycling in Carrollton (330-627-8130), Solomon Scrap and Salvage in Salem (330-337-0491) and Six Recycling in East Liverpool (330-385-1452) accepts appliances and scrap metals. Go Surplus in Salem and Canton accepts Computers, TVs and other electronics. Call the businesses for more information and to verify that they will accept your items.
The Columbiana County Career Center has established a drop-off recycling program
Our 2008 Annual Report has been posted online.
Do you need to compost just kitchen scraps? Try Anaerobic Composting.
If you have lead-acid batteries or used motor oil, you can always recycle them at these locations. Latex Paint is not hazardous. We have some ideas on what to do with your old latex paint.
We have added a page about Conservation, because there is more to conservation than recycling. You can use many of these ideas during your daily life.
Spring is finally here. That means it's time to start cutting the grass again. If you want to spend less time mowing, try the Don't Bag It program.
