Y-Chromosome genealogy-dna tests have been completed for individuals descended from two different sons of Henry Doude (Thomas and John).
The near-match results for these descendants confirm the documented genealogies.
Compared to tens of thousands of results for other individuals, the haplotype (or dna signature) for Henry is, so far, similar to that of only one other family. The results also show no relationship to the Irish Dowds, indicating instead a probable continental origin for the ancient paternal ancestors of Henry.
