		indicating a probably more recent continental (say Netherlands to Denmark) origin for the paternal ancestors of Henry (NW Germany probable origin of Engle surname).

	No close dna relationship to Irish descended participants.  The only other-surname near match is an Engel (German origin).  This suggests that Henry Doude, who was from County Kent, England, may have derived his surname from ancestors in England or Continental Europe, rather than Ireland.
	Note for those familiear with dna testing: TB8K4 was SNP tested positive at S28.
	This indicates a subclade placement at R1b1b2a2g (S28/U152) (formerly R1b1c10).  More info available at John McEwan's SNP site:

	The dna suggests an ancient origin for Henry's paternal line ancestors in an area near the Swiss Alps.
	Henry Doude's actual haplotype probably matches SPBSW (with the exception of CDYa, which was more likely 37) - an educated guess based on which of the different markers matches, or is closer to, the AMH. Testing of more descendants may enable us to determine the generations in which the changes occurred.

	*Update: a genetic study in Ireland has shown the possibility of the genetic signature for descendants of Niall (brother of Fiachra), or the Ui Niall, concentrated in North Central and Northwest Ireland today.  It is interesting to note that 10 of the 11 Irish descended Dowd haplotypes available so far (over 90%) are very close to this signature, or haplogroup (while roughly 8% of all Irish samples fall in this group).  In SNP testing, this group has been shown to be positive at marker M222; the R1b subgroup is called R1b1b2a2e, formerly R1b1c7.  See also:

	53ZBS: Earliest known ancestor: Peter Dowd, born about 1790.  He lived in Scrabby Parish in the town of Scrabby in County Cavan.  His wife was Mary -.  They had 5 known children all born in County Cavan.  In the 1840s Peter left for America.  He settled in Princeton NJ with his grown married sons Patrick and Thomas Dowd.
