Our purpose is to provide comfortable and affordable apartments in Mendham for very low to moderate income seniors, and certified disabled persons, on an as-needed basis.  MASH tenants generally have family in the greater Morris County area, and may have moved here from states other than New Jersey, or they may have lived in the area previously.

Our tenants fall into three categories: 1) any single person 62 years of age or over; 2) any married or related couple where one person is 62 years or age or over; or 3) any certified disabled or developmentally challenged person, 18 years and older.

Applicants must have certifiable income that covers basic needs of at least $12,300 [for 2008], and income that does not exceed the federal requirements for the “eligibility to rent categories”.  For 2006, these maximums are, respectively for singles and couples:
  • Very Low Income:   $29,550 and $33,750
  • Low Income:             $43,050 and $49,200
  • Moderate Income:   $48,550 and $54,700

Additional information is available upon request.
